| I don't think many fans were happy with the fact that the Crusaders were fast tracked to SL. The majority would have much preferred Widnes in there with the Crusaders applying this time round if they met the criteria instead of the RL bowing to a chairman of a team who were no where near ready for Rugby in the top flight and have got away with whatever they have wanted ever since all in the name of expansion. We may have been let down by the financial management of the club but John Kear and a couple of the coaches before him have done wonders on the smallest budget in SL and we've never finished bottom. It's the now departed owners of our club who have got us in this mess. No one had a god given right to be in SL but if you are from London or Wales as a fan you don't have that worry when the franchise applications come round. If we have a ground to play in I would watch Wakey in the lower divisions and wouldn't expect them to get back in SL. Next time round it will be another club from the heartlands at the expense of another club that will need propping up.

Personally I thought you should have been let in last time, but we all know who the RFL wanted instead.'"
Pity the RFL were not up front with the rules, instead they allowed our Chairman to invest money in the stadium and facilites in the first 8 months that could have been spread across the longer term while in the Championship. So we went through the farce of applying and all the hopes that gave the fans only to be told you were never going to get in beause of your administration.
Barrow must have been party to that "nod and wink" from the RFL by deliberatley losing the Northrn Rail Cup to us in 2009.
I think not.

It was known prior to the season starting that the finishing in the bottom two positions in 2005 would lead to relegation. It wasn't an anti- Widnes thing.

Hmmm
Some mileage here
The Broncos went into liquidation and re-formed, still in SL is that not a precedent that has been set, perhaps something for Mr Glover to look at and see if there is anything that would support a good fight here.
My take is that I will support the club 100% I do not intend to travel to any away games now this season, unless we play a team in the Cup from a lower Division,
I will reveiw when the SL franchises are announced but I am happy to prepare for Championship rugby and get back to sport and not politics.
We have to look to the future now, if it means getting drubbed every game but taking 800k from Sl or whatever and turning that into profit then that will put us in a strong position when they boot us out!

I didn't see the RFL running to help Widnes when they went into administration we were deducted 9 points, lost all our best players including Sidlow and Myler to Salford.
Widnes were not granted a license despite a bond of £500,000 being offered by Steve O'Connor to the RFL.
We've all got a sob story. Fact is you have been in SL on the strength of broken promises along with Salford, Cas and Crusaders. I don't remember any support from the "Rugby League Family" when my club were getting poop on from a great height.'"
Cas kept the one promise that really mattered...to tonk your boom and bust outfit in a Grand Final and enter SL through the front door of promotion. When Widnes sneak in on the back of a nice ground but without another GF appearance I think it must be time for you guys to ditch your sob story because previous injustices will have been more than righted.

You are right you were promoted because you won a grand final in the proper days of promotion and relegation and congratulations to you, no argument from me on that.
However you were given a license on the back of broken promises re developing your stadium and facilities along with Trinity and Salford.
We will not sneak in on the back of a nice ground at the next round of licences. If we get in it will be because we will have satisfied the criteria in terms of facilities, on field criteria (NR Cup Winners 2009), junior development (last season we topped the SL U18s Academy league), turnover (over £1 million) and attendances (averages in excess of 2,500).
All the above takes hard work and committment from a dedicated Chairman and management team, support from the fans and local business community. It will not be because we were given a nod and a wink from the RFL.
Check out the licensing criteria because appearing in a Grand Final in the season prior to being awarded a license is not part of it, you are getting confused with the good old days of promotion and relegation.

| So promotion on the basis that you haven't won the league you were in during the term of licences?

| Cas finished bottom in 2008 anyway didn't they? So playing the P&R success card hardly worth it!

Agreed, i'll continue to support Wakefield Trinity and will be at Belle Vue for every game but i will not travel to any away games whilst in SL, i might just donate what would have been the admission price to the club. When were demoted i'll return to travelling to every game home and away

No as if you win the league you can still go up so not 'on that basis'
Anyway still got 1 year left to win it
And hardly like we'd be the first team...

Yes, I think that's what we're hoping for. Similar scenario - you bring your unbeatables to our dump, you get beat by our kids, you go back home. That's what we'd like to see happen. Is that OK... as a wish... for us... with you?
