| Catalan must have been similar in their big front row phase.

A totally different type of player to either Crowthe of Batch but, he would be better suited to the likely soft ground and would give us a bit more grunt in the middle of the park.
Btw, I've no idea if he will be "fit" anyway but, IF he is, I'd have him in there.'"
Is Huby a racehorse? Soft ground will suit.

Injuries permitting that would be mine.
I'm all for batch, Crowther and Anakin etc getting a chance but make it the senior players to lose first - could be wrong but that's how I see it.

| Horo looked extremely tired in all games I watched of Catalan last season- we got every home game of theirs over here ...I was not impressed

The only marker i have is watching him play against Halifax and based on that he would be first name on the team sheet for me. Absolute workhorse and constantly caused opposition problems both in Attack and defense.
To be fair i didnt see much of him at Catalan, but i did watch him closely in the Million pound game and i thought he was the best forward on the pitch and put himself about a lot.

| I didn't pay much attention Horo until it came out that he was Wakefield bound. From then on I watched and thought he came across as one of Catalan's better players and one who constantly tried to gee-up his less enthusiastic team mates. Positive signing IMHO.
And he's got hair that me and Luke Gale would kill for..

Ahh your new victim of the season. Funny really because virtually all Catalan fans rated him as one of the few players to perform - stop talking rubbish.

| I think Crowther and Batch are another season off being physically and technically prepared for regular Super League. But they will both go on to be good players if they continue their improvements. They're still very young. They will also not let the team down if they do play, but they probably need regular game time to keep up with their development.

Agreed the tendancy is sometimes to rush players and I dont think we need to at the moment.

I agree. He always looked knackered.
I disagree that he was knackered. He just has that open mouthed look. Like Poching used to have.
His stats were good. He doesn't miss tackles, he plays long minutes and his running lines are excellent.
I think he'll be starting with Ashurst personally.

I thought the same - he has that mouth-breathing, round shouldered style that makes him look spent - but his stats would suggest otherwise.
Him and Ashurst starting would be formidable - Ashurst was my favourite player last season, and there is no reason to think that he won't be as relentlessly efficient this year.

Just been watching the interview with Radford on twitter ( reckons wakefield will be a major threat this year) .
He also talks about how picking your strongest 17 week in and week out means they run out of steam at the end of the season when the big games come around. This is in my mind where Batchelor, annakin, crowther, jowitt type players prove invaluable. All have now got a fair bit of SL experience and can step into the team and not be a weakness despite all being nowhere near their peak yet. I expect a lot of squad rotation this season to keep everyone fresh all season.
