| Great signing for Trinity. Big improvement on Kirke and Lopini Paea At 6ft 4 tall and 17 1/2 stone he is a big hard nosed prop giving real grunt to the pack.
Looking forward to seeing him play against Leeds on Boxing Day hopefully. If Simon put on 5kg more muscle in off season like Amor seemed to do a few years ago, he'd be even more effective (and he's very good now) and what a pack with Scruton and a fit Anderson!

| Wakey fans, you get England firing you got a great player, he was best player on the park against st George , he was best player that night,,
We have had poor season and with that there are scapegoats and he was a target with a couple of discipline issues and bad injuries,
The facts are when he started with hilly in his first season we went 11 wins on trot and dragged ourselves to 5 mins away from grand final,
Smith goes with the margue signing in Simms who is never a prop and for me has been poor, he's good with media grunts a lot, threatens the biff doesn't deliver,
England got shoved to interchange having to come on for hill with either Simms or asotasi who weren't good enough,
We were expecting another Chris hill, who arrived from championship to be guided by moz, carvel, woody, all quality experienced props, hill thrived, put that against England, with hill Asostasi Simms Riley Evans ,, it was never going to happen as quick as hill
I hope he does well for you and shows what smith thinks he's good prop, he asked to leave wasn't released he wanted starts not interchange, so fair play, easy to sit on bench and take the money every week, the boy obviously wants game time,,
I would have kept him at wire,, props hard to find

| England is a step up for us so we don't really need to care about any negatives we hear from some Wolves/any fans.
We know he probably isn't a world beater - we know where we stand in the food chain - but he is a player with very obvious potential coming up to the age where traditionally players in that position mature.
There are three types signings IMHO.
Superstars who are just so good they can't fail and we have not signed one of those since Wally Lewis and are unlikely to any time soon.
At the other end of the scale there are the absolute gambles. We as a club have had more success with these type of players than any club anywhere but then we sign more than anyone else. Richard Moore and Oliver Wilkes spring to mind but there have been many many more. This season and last we signed a shed load of them and because we were complacent due to previous good fortune it came as an almighty shock when the bubble burst and they failed almost to a man. Some may yet pull through but I think we need to learn a lesson.
The third group of players are the ones I'll call fit for purpose. So long as you're straight with them and use them correctly they will do a job. At the top end of these are your Solomona's and Broughs etc etc. At the bottom end are players like McGilveray or Blaymire - limited but reliable and all forms in between.
I'd put England in the middle of that lot. Has all the attributes required, rest is up to him.
These players are what most SL teams feed off and even Leeds and Wigan have a few as a team where all the players were superstars would be a disaster IMO. It's just that we can only afford a handful where as Leeds and Warrington can basically sign these players at will and discard them in the same way if things don't work out.
How ambitious we are for next season INHO will be demonstrated by how many of these players we sign. England may be an easy player for Warrington to let go and replace but for us he is a big step up at last and could be a very good signing indeed and possibly the difference between safety and being modestly competitive or relegation fodder.
Fingers crossed,

| Great signing for you guys, surprised Warrington have 'released him'. Don't know if Keith was getting that much game time at Wire, but I think it's definitely their loss, your gain. Maybe Tony Smith owed his brother a favour....

| I've seen little of this lad, but what I have seen has been mixed; when Wire came to us, he looked big, tough and chippy as owt - which is exactly what we need.
If he wants regular starts and is prepared to put the graft in, that'll do for me; I'm less worried about what Wire fans think and more concerned with what I see with my own eyes.
Pack is looking good so far - Anderson, Scruton, Simon and England all have bags of experience, and the big lump from Saints has shown potential; I was fearful of losing Mullaley, who's been brilliant for us, but England is a decent replacement.
