That's the worrying bit for me. If the offer is as derisory as Michael Carter has suggested then why is Sir Rodney talking it up?? I don't doubt for one minute that this is a ploy to make Yorkcourt and the Council look good but why is Rodney not saying the same as Michael Carter?

Quite frankly, I could make an offer to BOI to buy Belle Vue and rent it back to the club but I can't see them accepting the £5 that I have spare this week!!
I realise that on the face of it it seemed like a really positive bit of news but to me they should either have said nothing until a deal was agreed, or they should make it known what they have offered to BOI to buy it so that we can see they are serious about it and not just looking for a bit of positive publicity.

The story was pushed by the Council & Yorkcourt. Michael would not comment as there is nothing of substance yet to comment on.

No surprise that a newspaper try's to increase it's readership with an interesting headline.
Plenty of folk will buy the paper to see what "the bid" is all about.

The Express could help Trinity by keeping the stadium issue on the front pages and help put pressure on the council and Yorkcourt but, it seems that they aren't bothered about Trinity, unless it helps them move a few extra copies.

It could just be that the wakey exp have been given the story without much detail. It used to be that the express covered load of news on trinity and probably were given heads up on breaking news by the club. Now because of social media the paper gets the story well past its sell by date. I think the club could and probably should develop a much better relationship with the express.

So his comment to the WE could've been what he has since said on social media.

On another note is this the offer to the BOI that Carter referred to a few weeks back?

Newspapers do it all the time, so the local rag is no different. Hence why I never buy one.

WE print whatever Box and his mates want printing. WE to frightened to print anything negative about Box and his cronies.

I dissagree Michael Carter should have made his comments about the non deal being a WMDC & YCP scam and made his feelings known to anyone reading the story.

As it is, the majority of those who read the Wakey Express now only have YCPs & WMDC s side of the tale and think Trinity have been saved by the wonderful Colin Mackie and Peter Box.

There's a small Trinity faithful who know the Clubs side of it but no one else does. Should Michael Carter now refute the story in next weeks Express it'll probably be 6 pages inside and have about 5 column inches as opposed to the splash headline of this mornings report.

Once again, I'm asking those who are closer to this, Why has Sir Rodney backed this offer and broken with the stance being taken by the Chairman?

I cannot agree more the problem is that following every meeting we have a few in the club that know what was discussed. In addition the other parties knew so decided to go to the press while the club side decided to keep it secret. We now have a situation where we all know what one side indicates they are offering and another saying it was not acceptable.
At best it shows a lack of understanding of the press and supporters because the latter would read the article and think that's an ideal solution only then to be informed by the club that we are not making a comment but nothing's changed. This makes them look intransigent and will only consider Newmarket or nothing.

Despite the council slavishly following the Councils narrative Cater defiantly missed a chance to rubbish the story. As time goes bye the more and more my suspicions grow of Rodney Walkers motivations, I'm just hoping maybe he was somehow miss quoted.

In 2011 Glover threatened to organise a boycott of the paper after a series of sensationalised negative stories. I'm sure the coverage of the club got better after that. Maybe time to go down that road again?

I think that by not making a comment they are already boycotting the paper leaving others to fill the void. I guess we will hope for better support from the Dewsbury herald next season.
