Why would he say no players to be sold on Friday then? It is not a good way to start with your new customers is it?

well in a way it isn't a lie, as he has been sold today, its not upto him, the administrators will do everything in their power to settle debts first then try to sell it as a going concern, the the HMRC don't accept an agreement then they will have to liquidate the club, but he will be aware of the position, and more to go i fear

Exactly, doesn't make sense. If this would have been announced on the day, I'm sure more people would be taking it better, instead of this getting all excited and looking forward and then a big time downer again.

He didn't say no players will be sold today (ie Friday when he agreed the deal), he said no players will be sold. As others have said you would have known on the Friday it could happen and not made the comment or you believed the deal had been struck including all assets (incl players)

And thats the biggest dubfounded statement that has ever been released on the website if the list of possible departees becomes true in the next few days.

but when he said that did he think that he would be in full control, maybe things have taken another twist

We won't be doing that though, will we? We'll be giving away the choice cuts and leaving ourselves the odd finger-scoop under the bone that turns out tasty and a bit of offal that we might spice up into a meal. It'll be a makeshift 17 for sure. What chance another Wally Lewis style signing for the last 10 games?

| I wasn't trying to stir it last week, but the brutal fact that an announcement on the trinity website is not an official takeover. I said it seemed a little odd... It may be a verbal agreement with a good intentions to see it through, but once it's in the hands of the administrators then it's up to them to decide the best FOR THE CREDITORS not the club. until you come out of administration it's not owned by anyone apart from the administrators. Any ownership after that will be put to the creditors to vote on (I think they need 75% of the vote - based on debt)
It may have been that HMRC had the requisite percentage of debts owed that they could basically give the nod to the administrators to say "get the best deal" and then they'd just sign off on what they could get.
but It may be that SRW's donation that turned into a loan meant that the HMRC no longer had the required percentage and that it'd have to go to a vote.
I honestly don't know...
what did seem odd was the announcement on the website, it seemed more just to give a boost to the players, the fans and get some positive PR before the weekend, but how legally binding and how solid a deal it is only time will tell
(by the way - if it is just a PR stunt it suggests that the potential new owners are playing the same game as previous owners)

| Maybe the Administrator received no fee for the players leaving? Maybe the deal was for the other club merely to take on and honour their package and contractual rights? To significantly cut the wages bill and maybe reduce the non-fed trained? In which case no player would actually have been sold as such...?
Maybe the RFL insisted on this to protect all the players' existing contractual positions?
Just a thought?

Thats the bit that Im sure we will never know, the actual transfer fees of all these that are leaving, if there was a transfer fee at all. I know theoretically the transfer fee becomes non existant anyway as we cant do anything productively with it anyway, as in buying a replacement, but it would be interesting to see what sort of deals have been struck in comparison to the figures you actually believe these players are worth.

| Obst, Millard, Jeffries - three overseas players. Are there any other foreign players with non-EU passports? Are they deliberately trimming the squad down to EU only players?

| Whatever the rights and wrongs of what's been done by the management in the past, I wish you all the best. Horrible situation to be in watching your club in dire straits - I remember seeing the Leeds team disintegrate in 1995-96, and it wasn't pleasant.
