| Quote RebelRebel="RebelRebel"Correct me if I'm wrong here, but wasn't it Samuels who threatened to withdraw his financial support for the club if Crusaders weren't admitted to SL? I think this is where things started to go wrong for them.'"
Yup and he did that anyway (again) sold their ground from under them (effectively) and then rented it back at a rate that meant they had to double crowds to cover, oh yes lining his own pockets with all proceedes from sale.
As soon as Samuel made that statement the RFL should of said 'actually your ok then we want proper RL commitment'. SO'C offered to put 500k in an account so if he ever left Widnes it was there for the new owner, yet they opted for the guy who said he'd walk away if didn't get his own way

| The problem with the current rugby football league administrators is that they are hellbent on going down in history alongside the brave chairman of the Northern union.
People like Nigel Wood seem to think that they have to radicalise and revolutionise the game in order to make their mark before their time is up.
So blinkered and so suffering from tunnel vision are they that the will not listen to people with opposing opinions.

Absolutely.
I also agree with the proposal to support Crusaders by taking Jarrod Sammut off their wage bill; it's the least we could do.

| Hope they pull through, I for one still want a welsh representation in SL. But I want them to be economically viable like the rest of us have to be. FWIW I think SL rushed them. If 3 years in the championship is what it takes to get them back in a position to move forward then so be it. Same applies for us.

| There is a rumour going round that the RFL have asked the other super league clubs to bend the rules and allow crusaders to stay in super league next season as well as them getting a franchise in 2012. The proviso would be that a championship club will still be promoted but nobody will be relagated and super league will be expanded to 15.

| If that rumour is true it makes our 'sport' look like an embarrasment.
Rules change year on year and now to suit events.
Its as controlled as WWE wrestling!

The whole idea of licensing makes it a joke already but if what i have heard is allowed to happen then there will be zero credibility for the sport.

True, if were going down this road we may as well give development clubs 12 point start every game they play.

If this rumour turns out to be accurate then the RFL might as well just say that expansion clubs will be in SL as long as they exist and need not apply for a license. It’s out in the open and honest and allows the clubs to focus entirely on development. That way everyone knows where they stand so there should be none of the second guessing that we are witnessing now.
One thing is for sure, such a scenario would certainly get the RFL out of a hole with regards to licensing if all vulnerable clubs delivered on facilities.

Absolute joke, don't how know accurate this article is. 3 names in 3 years, what kind of business is this? What kind of organisation allows such a business to be part of there organisation, only the RFL could!
Quote SUPER League side Crusaders RL are unlikely to survive a winding-up court date on Tuesday.
But rugby league insiders insist Wales will have a team in next year’s Super League – and it will be called ‘The Welsh Crusaders.’'"
To think Wakey Cas or Salford could go to make way for these jokers. I hope all the threatened clubs have consulted lawyers on legality of been kicked out when these lot are been kept in.

| Looking at it selfishly, if the rumour is true and means that neither us nor Cas gets relegated, then bring it on. Newmarket would definitely be done then and so our future is secure in the long term. Hell, even Glasshoughton might get finished.
There would be no detriment to the lower league clubs, as Crusaders going pop would just answer the relegation question that is vexing us and Cas.
