| Quote: PopTart "I just think you are confusing majority with noisy.
I'm not saying they haven't been pushed to the limit and I can understand the feeling, but there are many who recognise the other factors involved and it isn't just a get rid of the coach situation.
Whenever we have a vote, so it is just a yes or no rather than an arguement over a specific issue, JK always comes out (some times only marginally) more popular, so I'm reading that as the same people saying they want him out over and over give the impression that is the majority view but in reality it ios not.'"
Yet the people that dont want Kear to be replaced seem to have no substance for their logic in wanting him to stay.
Its the same story:
He saved us from relegation.
Theres no one better for the same money
Theres no one better who would come to us
Its not his fault - players leaving/limited budget/injuries
But the people that want him out, seem to focus on his coaching ability or lack of it,which has been shown up this season, indeed the guys whole dignity and integrity has been called into question this season.
Just reading back over some of his comments this season after heavy defeats,it becomes quite clear he has lost the plot.
The fact he wanted to leave for Catalans should tell every supporter that his heart isnt in the Wakefield job,hes quite simply taking the money week in week out and will continue to do so until an alternative postion comes up or his contract expires.
He is taking the pi$$ out of the club and every single paying supporter.

Look this arguement could go on forever. I would say there is less substance to saying he isn't a good coach based on some bad performances for part of this season when in previous seasons he has been seen as an exceptional coach (not just a good one)
Either way, and I respect your right to say what you think, I want to give him chance to have the off season to regroup and start again.

For me that has never been a reason for keeping Kear you cannot live on past glories for ever that said he did also take us to 9th, I think, and then 5th last season so these achievements combined for me gives him some breathing space.
Quote: TURFEDOUT "Theres no one better for the same money.'"
The logic in this is that it's taken 11 years to find someone who has taken us above 11th for more than just 1 season. I'm not saying there isn't better out there but do you trust Ted and co to appoint someone better? Remember Jimmy Lowes was offered the job before Kear, where would we be now had he taken over?
Quote: TURFEDOUT "Theres no one better who would come to us.'"
Again it's more down to who is making the decision. Rather than just getting rid of Kear I'd like to have a good idea of who would be coming in so I could make a judgement on that. My fear is if Kear goes Broadbent will just step up to taking care of all first team duties and another wage is saved without being replaced.
Quote: TURFEDOUT "Its not his fault - players leaving/limited budget/injuries.'"
This is a huge consideration for Kear and for any coach before or after him. The budget will always be small and most on here have praised Kear for bringing players in on the cheap and making them play like they were on a kings ransom. The problem is then that come contract time they want a kings ransom or they bugger off elsewhere. The departures this year could not have been more significant. Brough was the leader of the team and results often hung on whether he was having a good day or not which he often did. Tronc, when his heart was still in it, was a massive influence making massive yards and with a great off load.

At what point did he start to lack coaching ability? At the start of the season when we beat Leeds and were unbeaten? When Brough left? When he went for the Catalans job? When we got thumped by, insert team name here,?
Even if Kear's heart wasn't in it, and I have no reason to suspect it isn't as plenty of people apply for other jobs but continue at their present employment with no problems, what good does it do his future job prospects if the team is doing badly?

| Not going to question his coaching one way or the other, but after saying he wanted to lead us into the new stadium to now searching for new jobs does not sit well with me.

| I don't believe Kear has lost the plot, so much as he is a coach under pressure. Any person in any walk of life will when they are not performing to the best of there ability will look to use distractions to avoid placing themselves in the direct firing line.
With JK it is not a case of losing the plot or becoming a bad coach. It is simply a case of the man has reached his limit of ability with Wakefield as he did with Hull previously. I understand that he should go and I am all for it based on current team performance, but is it really worth making a change now with only three games to go. The change should have been made weeks if not months ago.
I believe that maybe keeping him place until the end of the season is not ideal with the (how I see it) majority it is the only logical thing to do now.
Put it another way if he were to go say after the Wire game then there are only two games remaining, no doubt Paul Broadbent would take temporary charge and to be fair very little would change in playing style or team commitment. The pupil would most probably coach in the same manner as the teacher.
If I am not mistaken, isn't JK on the board of Directors in some capacity, if he is then he is hardly going to advocate is own sacking is he??

Perhaps a move upstairs would be mutually agreed. Trinity can't afford to dismiss him, Kear will only go if there is another job to walk into.

Big mistake from Ted not letting him go to Catalans - nobody has benefited from him staying here

| the team is not at fault in my opinion. it was a shame to see them boo d off on sunday.
they generally put in the effort but the game plan is dreadful.
at the start of the season JK complained about wigans tackling and slowing down the PTB.
this type of defence is now used by most of SL
our attacking gameplan is based around catching the markers out off a quick PTB.
this is utterly useless against a set defence, who are simply ready to muller any player trying to drive in(korky must be getting sick of it by now!!!)
if the PTB is slow then the ball has to move wide to make the defensive line move.
JK seems to have no plan against the current defensive style most teams now use.

| i was not trying to make out the players were entirely blameless. clearly the knock ons on the first tackle and running into touch on the first tackle is unforgivable.
however this does not alter the fact that with ball in hand we have no moves
and in defence we look like headless chickens.
you can take a look at the lower leagues and see lower quality players playing to a disciplined and organised system.
if they can do it on a part time basis why can kear not manage this?
