Yes the site has been sold and it's not to us or the trust, without the Super Bowl site the upgrade of BV is dead in the water. The company who have bought Superbowl are the preferential bidders for BV.

Make of that as you will but we the speccis are going to have to get our heads round Dewsbury as there aren't any more options.

So who are the preferential bidders?

A property company from Leeds

Its being bought early by the other main bidder as a blocking mechanism as they know that without it we have no real interest and are likely to pull out of the bidding. I'm not 100% whether the sale is actually done and dusted yet, contracts exchanged etc, and it is, for now at least, still listed as for sale on the agents site but the end is as nigh as it gets for Belle Vue. The fat lady is just finishing the last verse and building up for the big finish.

But conversely, if 'we' then bought BV then the superbowl site wouldn't be very useful to them either?

IF any bidder other than someone on behalf of the Community Trust is the preferred bidder, it's no wonder that MC wants to move out of the City.

Political will is a major factor in getting large project to proceed and for Trinity, it's just not there.

Cas on the other hand seem to have full backing and support for their scheme, mind you, that hasn't been built yet either.





IF we were to get to Wembley and be victorious, we ought to have our civic reception in Dewsbury Town Hall, Wakefield, under the current council regime neither wants or deserves any professional sporting organisation.

Major issue there is Belle Vue is about for to five times the cost and we don't have a pot to pee in. Even with the ground there the property company could stick some flats on the land they've just bought and not lose out, maybe even turn a small profit in time, whilst we'd be stuck with a crumbling ground we can do nothing with which is costing a fortune to maintain.

Does this mean yet again we have been shafted by the holy Trinity of Peter Box Colin Mackie and Sir Rodney Wa*ker

Depends whether they are acting on their behalf. I'm not sure anyone is 100% sure at the minute but either way it isn't good for us.
