We have finally hit the 2,000. Support for the ground redevelopment application.

Comments Received: 2014 Objections: 10 Supporting: 2001
Let’s hope we don’t have to wait too long for the application to be heard at the planning meeting.

Quote: vastman "[iWithout doubt the thing that gutted SWAG members like me and TRB, PB and Jinjer it was this. I feel terrible that I pushed so hard and against the wishes of the people who lived nearby and objected.
[/i

I still think their objections to the proposed project was unreasonable. What non of us knew was that the actual proposal was a con. Through no fault of the NM supporters they were indeed left with a giant fridge and nothing to counterbalance it, which the stadium would have. As I say not our fault but it still makes people of conscience feel as if it was. The YC scum bags couldn’t care less.

On the flip side the damage is now done, any further development won’t make it any worse, may even improve things a bit by at least finishing the place.

It’s a poor legacy from a major public fraud by people who will get rich and never be punished. In the meantime we have to salvage whatever we can and that means negotiating with YC and sadly that will involve more give on our part.

It stinks and the next time you here someone calling some other country a banana republic remind them that we live in one.'"

Yeah this in bold, every time I drive up Ashgap lane in Normy and it comes into view I end up shaking my head, if only we knew then what we do now?icon_sad.gif

I wasn't at most of the later ones but basically its nothing that wasn't said on here through the years. Box can't be touched, he said a lot but promised nothing. What you want to know is what was said between Rodney Walker, YC and the Council, many of whose meetings SWAG was not in attendance. It goes pear shape when SWAG moved over to the Trust and lost control to RW. TRB and IA did there best but were constantly undermined and outflanked. It's those years where the damage was done and the chances of finding out what was said are nil unless it goes to court but that's just somewhere else to lie to these people.

MC and JM have got it about right now having finally got rid of Walker and co and having a stake via the ground. It's not much but it's better than before. As I say all at SWAG did our best but the club are ones to drive this forward now.

I'm many things but part-time isn't one. Missed roughly 15 matches in 30 years. Younger than you is clearly what I am eusa_whistle.gif

You must be thinking of that pesky FC, a lot of people mistake him for an older version of me- apparently.

Regarding our planning application, is there anyone on here, that knows about how applications are listed for hearing at the council application meetings?.
I have looked at the January council meeting, there are 2 applications being heard.
One application received and validated 3rd March 2020. The other, received and validated July 2020.
If these are typical of waiting times, then I think we’ll be lucky if our application received 24th Nov, validated 16th Dec, is heard, let alone approved, before the end of the 2021 season. Therefore little chance of any work starting this year.

No idea, email the club, if MC can tell you he probably will, seems pretty open.

Usually a residential development, which is relatively more contentious, allows three months from submission to hearing. I guess that would be a good timescale to work on. As ever there are always delays and with planners and consultees working from home it may prolong matters.

As long as the club get all the required info bottomed out (phase 2 SI and remediation strategy to deal with the contamination for example) in a timely manner then it shouldn't take too long. Same with the NM application.

Constant chasing is required but they seem to have have instructed Pegasus who will push it.
