| Quote: Standee "but is £100 for a season pass going to sustain the signings you need to make the 8 regulalrly, can you "afford" to wait out the new stadium before being able to challenge?
I know Hudds have done it with their pricing and cash chucked in by the owner, but can WTW owner(s)[?] affor to do the ground development at Bell Vue, the the new ground AND player recruitment/salaries?
(honest question, not trolling, I don't know what wealth your owner(s)[?] have)'"
Honest answer is yes.

Yes he can afford the ground improvements and the player recruitment to push the club on. Newmarket is the big one but I believe that things are looking very positive on that front. The club appears to be in good hands though only time will tell but as yet it all seems pretty positive.

personally I doubt it, I'd rather not have "promoted" Widnes and kept SL as it was.

Yes because as it turned out the Crusaders couldn't support SL financially. So instead of announcing that they are kicking the Crusaders out, they talked with the Crusaders into withdrawing their license.

As someone who was with SKY News, BBC Look North, Calendar, various local and national radio broadcasters and a large number of RL trade and national press as the announcement was made and then throughout the day, I can tell you that their understanding of the actual merits of the applications was that Wakefields was one of the better ones.
I was privy to the comments made by Blake Solly of the RFL and can confirm that he stated Wakefield were in on merit and not because Crusaders withdrew. He also went on to reveal that Administration and stadium issues apart, Wakefields application was up there with Sts, Leeds & Wigan. He was obviously referring to the elements of the franchise application that dealt with Community, youth development, commercial/Hospitality etc.
It was also Stated that Wakefilds application was possibly the best of the Grade 'C' group of clubs.
We will never know for sure but that leads me to believe that we were not saved by Crusaders withdrawal, I won't speculate who might have been in the firing line.
As for the bit in red, give yourself an uppercut fella!

Of course the RFL said you were "in on merit", hardly likely to say otherwise, are they.
good luck in 2012, I hope Agar doesn't kill the passion you have for your team, like he has for many at FC.

Unless I've missed it on the website, why hasn't the club been shouting about this?

I think officials at the club have to use a bit more discretion than I do although there has been hints at it.

Do any WTW fans honestly believe that, had Crusaders not withdrawn, you'd have been in SL next season, and remeber I said HONESTLY.'"
So what if it was true, it's all past the point of debate. We are Super League...Fact get used to it. Maybe we did have a bit of luck, just like yourselves did with the Gateshead fiasco! The need to keep pointing it out shows you hold some deep dislike of us.
