| So if we're aiming for a 30-man squad, that would leave us with something like:
Jowitt
Johnstone
Hall
Pratt
Walmsley
Trueman
Russell
Atoni
?
Rodwell
McMeeken
Storton
Pitts
Doyle
Uele
Vagana
Scott
Rourke
Delaney
Law
Booth
Russell
Lino
Lawford
Lingard
Smith
?
Niketemo
Boothroyd
Bain
So it's very clear where we need troops. We could easily fill those spots with Hood, Cozza and Shaw - I'd be perfectly happy with that for next season at least.

| Quote: Kirmudgeonlyisback "Is the question your asking is on what basis is Lachlan lam fed trained - he played as an under 9 and under 11 over here , vagana played his initial rugby at Queensbury (I think ) lam received approval to be off quota and vagana is in an identical as he was born in 2000 whilst his dad was playing at Bradford so was an under 9 - I know it sounds ludicrous but it’s true'"
I’m fine with it to be honest, I just thought it would be close with Vagana as after a bit of digging you have to be registered with a member club for 3 years to be classed as Fed trained. I don’t think you register till you are under 7’s and assuming he left when he was 8 or 9 it will be very close for Vagana to meet that criteria.
I knew Lam left when he was 11/12 so more understandable that he meets the criteria.
Still not sure who our quota players are for 2025.
Everyone keeps saying our quota space is full….but is that actually the case?
If it is I’d be comfortable trying to come to an agreement with Lino and/or Walmsely if we could bring a quality 9 and secondrow from overseas.

Isn't Cozza already signed for 2025 ? I may be wrong but I thought he signed for 2 years.

You're quite right, good spot. Would be perfectly happy to see him as cover in the middle or off the bench at 13.

| As poplar and shifty cat have pointed out, we actually have more depth in the forwards than I'd realised. We also have Kay for another year. So in a nutshell, if we re-sign Hood, and M Russell, Rourke and Niketemo come to fruition, then we have a 31-man squad. A real strong 17 (with a few question marks), a mixed but solid 13 in reserve, and Kay who can cover for all 30 of them.
Jowitt
Johnstone
Hall
Pratt
Walmsley
Trueman
O Russell
Atoni
Hood
Rodwell
McMeeken
Storton
Pitts
Doyle
Uele
Vagana
Scott
Kay
Rourke
Delaney
Law
Booth
M Russell
Lino
Lawford
Lingard
Smith
Cozza
Niketemo

There’s a lot of guesswork in some of these lists as you say. We actually have 24 signed up announced.
This as far as I’m aware is the announced and known to public list.
Jowitt
Johnstone
Pratt
Hall
Walmsley
Truman
Russell
Mckmeeken (one for you PT )
Doyle
Atoni
Scott
Storton
Pitts
Smith
Uele
Rodwell
Vagana
Bain
Cozza
Lino
Kay
Lawford
Booth
Lingard
There are questions over :
Joe Law
Tom Delaney
Will Brough (showing on first team website)
TBC:
Hood
Roarke
Russell
Niketemo
You also have Boothroyd in who isn’t signed and if we sign another quota won’t be.
So we still need a couple of young lads confirming (can’t find contract length on the net) or some rumours or retentions totalling around 6 x to announce.
Anyone know about Law/Delaney/Brough??

| Apparently Powell has told Law he’s not in his plans so won’t be surprised if he makes his York move permanent

| Rourke, Russell and Nikotemo still to announce. Hood I think is doing another year, and I'd expect Griffin as well.

I was suspecting that may be the case. Law has been full time for 3 years.
I suspect he’s go the ability. We may see that in a few years though and not in the short term I suspect.

As soon as I saw he was allowed to play against us last week, I assumed he wouldn’t be sort of our first team plans moving forward.
He’s the kind of lad though that can go away get games under his belt and come back to play in SL given his attitude and versatility.
