| Corbyn’s ‘socialist’ policies - renationalising the railway, boosting public services, a national education service, limited worker ownership etc - are hardly 1960s Soviet era. And, whilst you may not like them, they’re generally pretty popular with voters.

| Quote Kevs Head="Kevs Head"Irrespective of views on Brexit, anybody who votes for the Tories is voting for another five years of austerity, cuts to vital public services, the continued degradation of the NHS and the ‘bonfire of regulations’ (ie. working peoples’ hard earned rights and protection) not to mention real cuts to income caused by a hard, harmful Brexit. Anybody who says, ‘I’ve been a Labour voter all my life but this time I’m going with Boris’ needs to give his/her head a good shake.'"
Taking Brexit out of it, I live in Normanton. The Labour candidate is one Yvette Cooper. Can’t exactly vote for her. But the way the Tories have run this country (I agree with you on that) means that I won’t vote for the Tory candidate either. I imagine this a problem a lot of Northern Cities/Towns have.

| I'm just looking forward to the next smear campaign in the newspapers/national media on Corbyn. We've had the laughable 'terrorist sympathizer' to mention one...but what's next - Hitler's love child? Hates gays?

| Any body who thinks MP's are interested in helping the general public are way of .They are just out to get out of the country what they can . In the 60 to half way through the 70 over 70% of the M Ps were working class . Now it's less than 7%

| Quote Fishermanscap="Fishermanscap"Finally, when you say 'I hear the usual argument how things will be worse under Labour and Corbyn but as pointed out no one knows but what we do is how they are now' what do you mean? They are the usual arguments because they are true since the end of the war not one single genuinely socialist government anywhere has succeeded in any way. Everyone leaving the countries they took over far worse off than they were before, please name one that hasn't, I'd be fascinated. Remember, especially on the continent, the word 'Social or Socialist' in a parties name doesn't mean they are socialists.'"
None of that makes any sense.
The Labour Party under Corbyn are not radical by any measure - and what he's proposing is a tried and tested model of Democratic Socialism, which is very successful in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Canada, Ireland and others. Portraying it in any other way, is either deliberate misinformation, or a direct lift from a Daily Mail headline.
Interestingly, the stuff that really exercises the establishment - renationalising public utilities - has massive support among the electorate, regardless of which party they support. Go figure!

| Bren2k What evidence do you have to support your claim that renationalisation has massive support from the electorate

| Its the tory party that got the country in the situation its in now. Firsstly by calling a referendum and secondly for the pack of lies banded about to win the vote The problem seems to be that no one likes to admit that they have been duped by voting leave . Dont think for one moment the referendum was called to please the public it was called to hopefully unite a divided party. When the vote went in the wrong direction it caused more problems for the party. Boris and his bus tricked many voters and when you add his totally misrepresentation on immigration he pushed the button to influence the voters. All his figures HAVE BEEN PROVEN WRONG.
At least with the Labour party they tend to paint a picture based on truth . If you honestly think our schools, NHS, Railways are in safe hands then vote for Boris, if on the other hand you would prefer to see a fairer system not based on wealth put your x net to the Labour candidate and have another chance to vote on Europe in to the bargain

| Every time i think remaining is an option to be considered I see a speech or rant on twitter by Verhofstadt that confirms I voted the right way in the referendum.

Oh please not that ole chestnut!
Even if it said the real figure of 250 million what your saying is it would of swayed voters to vote remain....give your head a shake!
If it said a 100 million it wouldn't of made a difference on how people voted.
