In some ways they are the opposite of Hampshire.
Going forward and playing in the dummy half role, Hampshire (or Wood) is a far better option but, it's no good having that if our pack is beaten.
So, do you sacrifice a bit of quick distribution in the opening 20 mins to keep Wood fresh or, lose something in defence to have quicker distribution for the full 80 mins.

| Arona needs to hang his head in shame. Brain dead move, could have cost that game. Brough on the other hand, rolling back the years to put in a Stella performance on his 500th SL game. Masterclass.

| Agree and Miller should back himself as he should score. The threat title should say Catalan Grubs. Thought there were 13 Greg birds on the park for them tonigh and Kendall did chuff all.

| Hard fought win, very gutsy. Catalans standard grubs yet again. Arona scoring that try at the end would've given a more realistic scoreline based on the 80, instead he gets himself binned and puts us on the back foot. Thank heavens for Simon. Johnstone scored from a practically impossible position, Kendall as crap as ever (the Hampshire obstruction was just wrong), Hirst deserved to go but hard to take when Miller gets a high shot. Oh, a final note, can I take this opportunity to introduce Ben Jones-Bishop to the rest of the team. Poor lad seems to only get the ball from kick returns or 20m restarts.

| Kendle was fine for me. Both our sin binning were deserved.
The obstruction was unfortunate but he didn't have a replay blew for what he saw.

| Exactly, glad you were happy PT because I saw it differently. Will watch it back and maybe see it differently.

Tompkins putting his knee in big Daves back when trying to get a penalty was ignored but his hand in Millers face was pure petulance. Deinetely spolier tactics that thankfully didn't work. Welll done lads for maintaining your discipline

And he should get a ban for running into Kendle.
Thought he was a grub tonight. Glad Kendle called him out about it. Hope disciplinary don't bottle it.

Fair comments and agree re BJB, who I thought had a good game defensively and was willing to help out his forwards taking the ball up.
On the other wing TJ would have had a second stroll in had Bill Tupou pass the ball - frustrating!!!!

Players have been banned previously for far less and more accidental contact than that.
It was clear, deliberate contact and should be a couple of games.
Catalan are like Wigan reserves, Tierney, Tomkins, McIllorum and Matty Smith and just as grubby.
How good was Big Dave, an absolutely immense performance.
Fifita stats for last night:
Tries - 1
Tackles - 33
Marker Tackles - 7
Missed Tackles - 0
Busts - 4
Carries - 16
Metres - 130
Errors - 0
Penalties conceded - 1
Certainly a 9 1/2 / 10 performance and damn close to 10/10
Let's hope that Saints smash Leeds all over the park tonight and we can make it 2 on the bounce next week.
Come on Trin !

| Must be frustrating as **** for both our wingers. Tom gets one pass on the wing during the full 80 and that was from Hampshire. Fastest guy in the league and he's frozen out week after week feeding on scraps and cut out passes. Has he ever received a pass from Tupou??

I know that we shouldn't mention the other code on here but, they do make far better use of the "TMO" in their sport.
If the ref isn't sure what has gone on, he can ask to see the "incident" again and then rule on what he sees.
There were 3 or 4 late hits on Trinity players after the ball had gone and I think that only one was penalised.
I know there is a balance between letting the play flow and stopping the game for infringements but, this would help clean up some of the stuff that went on last night.
I know that Catalan have always played this way and the 4 players they have from Wigan will be well versed in the dark arts but, McNamara hasn't coached his previous sides in that style, so, why now ?

Well one of the touch judges was the same guy who reported Brough for mouthing off last week. However he got a right mouthful off Gigot last night and never said a word. The guy also refs a few games, I forget his name, but god help us when he is in charge of us again.
