Quote: ThePrinter "Interesting then that your first and only complaint about the ground in the hours after the match was Leeds potentially getting an advantage from having a big screen. A day later then you highlight the lack of basic toilet hygiene available to your wife.

Nice to see how you prioritise things if your club can't be bothered to make sure there's toilet rolls in for the ladies make it of what you want, I for sure have better standards for my lady

no club, event what ever you want to go to should ever have to put up with low standards as that, do you not agree or are you living in the dark ages icon_smile.gif

"The Golden Generation finally has its Golden Fleece! They have Wembley Cup Final winners medals to add to their collection." 23/08/2014:

Clip on the ear? Give over. If it was the other way round Wakey fans would be asking for a 3 match ban at least. The ‘tackle’ is shown in the highlights of the match which you can find online if you look at Leeds’ twitter.

Shouldn’t have to put up with low standards, but opening DAY and someONE has possibly messed up. Flaws happen upon the opening of any new ground even if they’re real rookie mistakes. If it was reoccurring low standards like CERTAIN grounds then it’d be more an issue. Let’s be honest you’re on thin ice complaining about low standards and dark ages when you still play at Belle Vue.

Doesn’t sound like you complained on the day to any member of staff and thus ok with other people going into the toilets and having the same problem? Looking at various social media seen many female fans comment on the game and ground and not read one single complaint of this “problem”. You sure you Wakefield lot know how to use toilet roll dispensers and hand dryers properly? icon_smile.gif

I'm pretty sure we can leave tolietroll-gate alone now.
I don't think it was actually Printers fault but the point's been made.

Have now watched the game ob Trinity TV.

Went pretty much to script and shows what a settled side we are (whether that's good or bad we will have to see).

Those players who know they are safe pretty much went through the motions. Randell and Ashurst did the best. Didn't see much wron with Fifita or PP, these are shock players who depent an mmshear grunt and power and as such are never going to play to their maximum in a friendly.

The new recruits in Brough and Kopczak showed touches, just enough to show their worth, King has less reputation so gave a little more.

Those vying to tie down a place looked a bit more urgent in Crowther, Arundal and Hampshire to an extent.

Basically as ever friendlies are a good run out and reasonably entertaining but no guide to the season at all.

Must say I'm quite impressed as to how good a shape Brough is still in. He's a lot slower but still condiderably quicker than Finny ever was so it seems like an upgrade for now at least.

Felt sorry for Kershaw, why some felt the need to highlight what was more bad luck than an error I'm not sure.

By god our pack is big!

Aside from the toilet roll struggles...

Seemed people were insisting on some sort of marker being set down in this game which was never going to happen. The intensity is never going to be there in what is a training match turn up a couple of notches.

Fifita’s lack of fitness a slight concern but he is still coming back from surgery and settling back in to family life after a disjointed year emotionally. Could also be that he just wasn’t going full tilt so his impact will never be the same.

All three signings showed up well. Brough will definitely add something this season. A considerable number of first teamed still to come back in to contention.

I did think both sides were a bit cagey in their approach to the match, possibly a reflection the assumption they will be serious rivals around play off places this year. Not counting any chickens yet myself icon_smile.gif

Why is it a concern, he looked as fit as he ever does which isn't very - I saw no obvious lack of fitness at all, I think we sometimes assume something is there when it isn't.

Glass half full nature of mine. Just didn’t look up to the condition of the others to me. Not really much to worry about with near on 6 weeks until season kicks off

Dave will never be truly fit like his brother that’s why we have him and not Andrew. I don’t know him but I can tell that he just does enough to get by but not enough to ever be an athlete.

SL allows him to get away with that and luckily because he’s a natural showman he comes alive on match day and most times his lack of fitness makes no difference to the effect he has on a game.

PP is very similar but not such a natural player but on our budget they are worth every penny. I admit it would be great if Dave had a conversion but it won’t happen and maybe it’s better that way. icon_surprised.gif

As the previous poster mentioned he's just come back from a second surgery & not long since started training properly - I watched a video maybe a couple of weeks ago and he'd only just started running, so it's no surprise he's not fully fit, or even as fit as the others at this stage.

Personally, I don't really agree with vasty about Dave, I didn't think he looked as fit as he normally does and as I mentioned above it's no surprise. Generally for a guy his size or for a prop, in general, I don't have any issues with his fitness. Otherwise, he wouldn't make the meters per season he has done and played in the number of games he has. I also think a lack of fitness would really show up in missed tackles, where if I'm not wrong he's got one of the best tackle percentages in the team. He does as many minutes as any of our props and as we've seen at times can do longer when needed. ATEOTD though how fit can a 6 ft 5, 120kg+ player truly get, the only way would be to lose size but then would he be the same player and have the same impact.

I have to agree. For his size I think he does more minutes than most.
A good sign of fitness is that he never makes mistakes. He takes the ball in and bounces players around but unlike other blockbusting players he never missed a tackle. (I wrote that and then realised that is exactly what you said in the next sentence!)
He clearly isn't a tri-athlete but he isn't unfit.

Tinny monstered that game, outworked everything on the park.
Danny Brush is gonna need at bit more room at 2nd and 3rd man, got caught a few times but spread it about and kicked pretty well, in fact I don't think he wasted any kicks, some were blocked and some were rushed out of him but those he got away had some kind of win on them.

Clearly he will get fitter and needs to but that’s not really my point. I’m just saying that in Daves case it’s not as important as it is with most other players. I just don’t think he will ever train enough to reach his full potential he just doesn’t have the mind set. Luckily for him and us it doesn’t make a huge difference. TBH if he loses half a stone and does 10,000 steps on his Fitbit he will be fine icon_cool.gif

Our passing in general is sometimes what concerns me. I think we are small margins away from top 4. Passing quality is one of them. The mount of times brough and miller had to collect passes above their head or behind them was similar to how I felt our half backs had to receives them last year. That said, it is the first friendly of the season ffs. I think we will see a different Trinity at London and I can't wait. Thought physically we dominated in the first half with our best players on the pitch. It was positive.

Andrew Fifta is not fit at all - he is just a better player than his brother.

they both struggle fitness wise - one can just manage it in the NRL the other cant.
