Was my wedding anniversary today and I was there instead of out celebrating. Nice of the club to provide a clown act for me though.'" yes was a shocking turn out by the saints fans,
congratulations on your anniversary choosing between an event and a celebratory day isn't easy and they let you down and all the fans the walked away in disgust showed what they felt too
we should be as a club pulling in another 3k fans just where and why have they turned they back on the club at a successful time, normally it would draw them in so frustrating

| I agree Snowie.
An improved year last year, backed up by this one. It was said earlier in the year that improvements on the pitch.
I read the other day that there is a side out there, that have sent out flyers, promoting their club, with incentives, round to new housing estates that have sprung up in the city.
Not surprising, that their average gate is higher than ours.
Seem to recall, I had a similar idea months ago and posted it on here. Some on here thought it was a stupid idea.

| After sleeping on it there is little less emotion now reflecting on last night. The game will be remembered for Finn's kick which hit the post and for the last Saints' try. Gutted as I am, we have to move on.
The task is now tougher than it was at 5pm yesterday, however 2 from 2 is what we need. I'm anticipating a positive reaction from the team next week. I just hope Hull stuff Wigan tonight and keeps us in fourth. I think that is the best outcome we can hope for.

| Emotions a little less raw this morning. Let's face it - we've had a fantastic season and it's not over yet. We could easily stay 4th. Win our next two games - this is Wakefield were talking about, nothing's impossible - and, if other results go our way, we could still get 3rd. Last nights gone, onwards and upwards!!

| The best team lost and its not often you can say that.
Although Grix made an amateurish mistake but the main problem for me was the whole play.
Saints took the chance and it payed off.
For Wakey to think they could simply shut shop and come away with a win against a desperate Saints side I just don't get.
Anyway 2 massive games coming up against sides much better than Saints.
for me its an opportunity thrown away.

Understatement of the year. A win last night would have knocked Saints out of the race for the 4 and put some space between us and Wigan. We're now back to looking at other results and crossing our fingers.

Who would have thought losing to a team in the play offs and staying in fourth at this stage of the season was a possibility 12 months ago. We're still in it and can still do iteusa_clap.gif

| I was absolutely gutted last night, but still clapped the team off - what a great effort against what is a very good Saints side.
We played well but didnt get the rub of the green, and Grix after playing 79 mins of SL rugby fluffs a kick of a bouncing oval ball. We should have won but thems the breaks. Hull and Wigan will be tough, but so what? We've already done Wigan at their place and pushed Hull all the way.
Fair play to Saints, they stuck to the task and got the rewards.

Absolutely, it's a shame some people on here don't apply the same perspective, sums it all up in a nutshell.

| If the team feel as half as gutted as I do they will struggle to come back from that defeat, hope I'm wrong. Never felt this devestated over losing a game. Destroyed.

| Quote: chissitt "Well it's funny that because we defended really well for 49 of the 50 minutes you mention, and only let them in from a mistake by a player who you are defending's split piece of indecision, as for your last part, you must be a very clever person if you knew that Grix would make that error because up until then he had played well and never looked like putting a foot wrong so fair play to you for spotting it.'"
He's right though. As a neutral (albeit one that would have preferred you to win) I thought you stopped playing too early. You were easily the better side and managed to negotiate the 12 man spell well. But then instead of just doing what had got you into that position you tried to sit on it. Yes you defended well, and yes you would have won anyway if not for the missed penalty or the Grix error, but you allowed Saints to stay in the game when they were second best by a long way. The big decision that I just didn't get at all was the penalty kick that took you 4 points ahead. There was no benefit to that, all it did was give Saints the edge back in the field position stakes when you should have had a set on their line to try to kill it with a try. Even just getting tackled on their try line would have been better for you than kicking the 2. There is a time and a place to drill it over the touch line, and there is also a time where you keep the foot on the throat.

All if's and but's and none of it matters now but, the calls to go for goal or, not, proved decisive on the night, not to mention half the width of the upright.
Should we have taken the 2 points, from just left of the sticks just before HT ?
Should we have gone for goal to go 6 up (the one that hit the post) or, should we have stuck it in the corner and wound down the clock and possibly come away with a match winning try and of course, should Grix have just killed the ball and then allow us to take as long as possible with the restart.
So near and yet so far but, ultimately, we would still have had to win next week and again at Wigan the following week and in this respect, nothing has changed.
Onwards and upwards.
Come on Trin !

| Having been at last night's match I just wondered if anyone who watched it on SKY could tell me how complimentary the SKY commentating team were regarding Trinity, or was it all about the Stains and how good they were?

wonder if it will be the same v wigan in fact I wonder if they will both to even turn up

I didn't notice it either way, which I guess is a good sign.
Cause the score was tight there was a lot of "we all know how dangerous saints can be" kinda talk
But the general mood was that Wakefield were the better team and looked like they're gonna get into the 4...
Until 2 minutes from time
