Great upbeat interview full of positivity. As MC said we need to move forward as a club now and support the new coach when announced.

I don't think MC can cop any flack for that.
He inherited Agar and got rid. He gave Webster the job temporarily, and he did extremely well in his first half season. Offering him the job on the strength of his half-season was a no-brainer. Webster then is unable to replicate the following year and falls on his sword, and MC recruits one of the most experienced coaches in the game.
Whatever failings we've had on the field, MC's choices of coaches have little to do with them, when you look at each coach he's had under his tenure. Each choice was a good one at the time.

| I thought Chester went well last year. Dont forget the brilliant victory against Warrington in the semi final last year at Headingly Wire were massive favourites. He is Wakey through and through so he would care about the club he would give that little bit extra (hopefully). My only issues with Chester would be does he have the discipline with the players will he be one of the lads? Even on his days off last year he came to watch Wakefield referred to Wakefield as we at one point when I spoke to him. Chester and Poaching not a bad partnership.

I can appreciate the 'one of the lads' comment but the difference being with Chester is, that he maybe Wakey through and through but he hasn't be part of the set up at Wakey.
You could say the same about Powell at Cas, he's Cas all the way but not been directly involved until a couple of seasons ago and that seems to have worked ok.
I know that Powell has served his apprenticeship to get to where he and Cas are but who's to say that Chester hasn't got the same passion and drive for the club, albeit with a shorter learning curve.
I misunderstood a poster about compensation, so Chester seems to be the obvious
choice, with possibly Willie coming too?

Carter said in his interview that the incoming coach would be working with the current backroom team so i doubt Poching would be coming as well, not this season anyway.

Your probably right Tricky, but he did say barring complications so maybe the successful coach might be already employed and everything could be sewn up by Wednesday, who knows!!

Chuff me! It all started on Boxing Day over the number of subs used at Headingley!
It wouldn't have been so bad if it had been over who was getting the pints in.

Why wouldn't you want a coach that is currently employed?
Only having candidates who are out of work narrows down your choice, I'll tell Wayne Bennett we are not bothering with his interview today

I don't mean by us but at another club hence the complications, maybe Cas want more money for Powell than Mr Carter wants to pay

| A very good interview . It's sickening what people can say on social media without any kind of substance. Once again I am hopefull we can turn the corner , but it's Wakey.
