| What will be done with the excess stock from last year? Have you considered a fire sale, like a couple of years back - happened in the belle vue car park and shirts were being sold off at a heavily discounted price.
Im sure some would argue that it may detract people from buying this years stock which I guess is a fair point., but this would at least ensure stock that the club have paid for is not sat gathering dust and cobwebs

Depends on the price i guess. If they are sold off at, say, a fiver then i doubt it would put anybody off buying a new shirt if thats their plan, they would probably just get the old one as an extra. If its much more than that then they probably just wouldn't bother with the old one. Anybody who comes down only for the five pound sell off probably has no intention of getting a £45 shirt anyway. Although all of a sudden you have them on site with money in their pockets and xmas coming up and a bit of hard sell...

| I pretty much had that argument with myself when I posted.
However, if the people buying the discounted shirts would have no intention of buying the full price ones, then getting say £10 off them for two of last seasons shirt is better than getting nothing off them at all - If you get what Im saying.
As I have previously stated the point would only be to squeeze the last penny's out of the previous years stock. £500 from selling discounted shirts is better than them sitting in a stock room.

| Or offer a 2014 shirt for a £10 with every 2015 shirt sold ((£45 spent)

Would still go a fiver. Two shirts for fifty quid sounds ok.

As i've said previously i'm hoping the quality will be better this year and i'll get one. Otherwise it might well be the first time in the superleague era i skip it.

If you don't mind me nicking this thought, I think this has a lot of merit, and am giving it serious consideration

| Surely most fans who are buying a 2015 shirt will already have a 2014 one anyway so it will be a pointless exercise?
You need to sell them off cheap seperatley so the people who don't usually buy a shirt might get one otherwise I seriously doubt it will work.

| If all else fails, give some away to local schools (assuming that we have small sizes), this will at least increase our profile amongst the younger members of Wakefields population and they may just come to some games/ buy a full priced "new" shirt.

A little o/t here but I've noticed that Trin are offering online betting, is it costly/difficult to have bookmakers dotted around the ground? I'd be inclined to throw a couple of quid at games.

Didn't a previous RL sports minister put a block on turf accountants sponsoring RL?
That's why StanJames doesn't get a mention now.
How much money has that lost the clubs and the game in general?

Yes mate, totally agree about the quality which is one reason why I haven't bothered for a few years.
Sounds like it's catch 22: we need to order a minimum number of shirts, but going off what DC said, we fail to sell all these at full price come the end of the year. And I guess the extra trimmings that add to the quality (like embroided badges etc) cost extra to produce and thus cutting into the profit margin. If only more fans bought shirts then I guess we could afford something of better quality.
