is the £10 offer to all season ticket holders (ie junior)? or is it just to adult holders?

this wont be popular but i can see less that 4,000 going on sunday, think theres quite a lot of discontentment among even some die hards, (ie me!) at present, its not the newton thing, its the brough deal, the tronc thing, and the resulting dull performances and heavy losses.

this is the quickest ive seen us slide backwards in years, as trb said, pre kear survival season probably.

not enjoying it, love gone wrong at present.....

ask about the ghost that is rumoured to appear down there, been down twice and never saw it

as for feeling at home I prefer to put the slippers on in front a coal fire than go do another shear icon_smile.gif

we should make sure the ground is full every home game if that means giving thousands of free tickets to the clubs and schools, then we might sell merchandise.

I do agree I know that some have said we have to charge more because we don't get big enough crowds but you'd hope that a few quid less would get a few more going to the match. At our last 2 away games we've paid £16 and £17 to get into 2 very good modern stadiums. It's no wonder away fans don't want to shell out £20 to get into Belle Vue.

The Forresters Car park on Barnsley road. go in for a pint before and after the game and the owners are happy.

giving away LOADS of free tickets to the schools is a cracking shout! the crowd figure grows, which makes us loook better, they may spend money which inevitably goes to us. and they may keep coming back... more money in the longrun. they may also bring friends... even better as they will have to pay to get in. if theyre young enough too they may also have to bring a prent who may end up coming back tooo.... win win situation

i remember when i was young they gave away free child tickets with half price adult ones to get them along too. at this point i was already a season ticket holder as were the rest of my family... so it didnt really help, but i know 3 other guys who still keep coming now. so it has worked out i guess. they should keep doing it for the low attendence matches... quins cats and celtic. i cant see how we lose

Agreed.

My son played in a RL tournament recently that was organised by the WTW community bods; all year 6 kids in Ossett received some coaching in advance, then they came together in Green Park on the Thursday before the Easter hols for the tournament itself. Each school fielded a girls and boys team and the WTW staff reffed and coached them through a chaotic but fun afternoon of RL; it was really well organised and great to be involved. I spoke to the organiser and said as much, but also pointed out what a missed opportunity it was; well over 100 kids from all over Ossett and surrounding, and not a voucher or free ticket to be seen.

If all of the schools involved had been allocated some discount vouchers or free child tickets for say, the Crusaders game, there's no doubt in my mind that new bods would come through the turnstiles on Sunday. I gather they organise these things on a rolling basis all over the district (they're coming back to us in the Summer) so it beggars belief that the marketing dept aren't jumping all over it.

(Btw - Southdale boys wuz robbed in the final; trophy-sharing my ar*e!)

The 20 quid ticket pricing is the worse thing the board have agreed this season (and there have been a few bad decisions IMO)

It has affected attendances badly, and the marketting of the club leaves a lot to be desired at the moment.
Its simply not good enough. The 10 quid offer is ok but not enough people know about it.

Things need to pick up soon, I'm a tradional 'rose tinted specs' brigade member but Im slowly losing patience with a lot of things.

Come On Trinity, pull yer finger out!!!! icon_frustrated.gif

You seem to have missed my point - I'm talking about attracting entirely new customers to the game by handing out incentives to their kids; those people are not going to have a season ticket or any awareness of the community team.

I've had a flyer through today...better late than never I suppose!

Its a good offer if there's someone willing to go, who hasnt already got a season ticket.
However, I think it would be more successful if a season ticket holder could take their ''friend'' to the game on Sunday and pay the £10 entry fee on the gate.
I'm sure this would suit some people better, as I know people who are more casual fans and often don't decide to go to the game until a Sunday morning.

Can't see attendance being much more than 4K TBH.

I got a flyer and took advantage of the tenner ticket for a mate.

I'll go for 4785 as I think it's going to be a nice weekend weather wise. icon_biggrin.gifAISY:
