| He seems to be talking about that full stadium design, which I thought the same way when I saw it—not the brochure for 2025.

That image isn't on that publication?
I wasn't involved with that one.
I think I did it for the Shareholder brochure as a "what might be", but it wasn't used.

| Is there any chance it could pass and be in place for next season, or are we looking at 2026?

Could get planning early next season, but not sure if it's programmed for next off season or not. Looking at that image it's looks like the terracing will be done as well, but the plans show different. That said no plans have gone in for whats happening on the North Stand.

think there's some confusion over the two images I posted... Vasty's pic was something I saw in the early east stand discussions... I don't remember when or where I saw it, but at the time I collected all the images I saw... This is probably superseded by the official trinity image.
The picture of the Sports Bar is on a page from a a marketing brochure I saw on a Linked-In page associated with the Trinity Commercial team.
I didn't intend the two to be connected for discussion purpose.. I just thought both were interesting and pretty relevant to current developments ... Sorry for any misunderstanding

| I am in praise of Matt undertaking all this work & improvements with his own money.
I have been reading all they postings, just a thought, the corner current shed roof/stand on the west terrace is quite low in proportion to the east stand & north stand, so when the new longer stand is complete, the stadium may look dis proportiond looking a little peculier ? It also may be quite dark under the stand & out of sunlight most of the time, therefore strip lighting may well be required at times.
However anything is better than what we have now so, onwards & upwards, & many thanks Matt for our new club, up the trin.

I think we have to get some balance here.
There are a number of things in play imho.
For a start this is just a plan. It would be prudent to get planning permission even if you don’t actually intend to use those particular plans. It would allow Matt to see how this season goes and then, if needed, he would have a base to upgrade it from. These are not the first plans submitted for the west terrace. I saw some really nice ones in 2005. Those however will now be out of date.
If they do go ahead they offer a reasonable temporary solution. Temporary, means 5-10 years in stadium development. This development is cheap so he should get his money back.
The close season is short in RL these days and the loss of capacity can be financially devastating as was the case with the east stand. This build could be done in three month so would cause zero disruption, you could confidently see ST for a start.
Finally all older grounds tend to look disproportionate it’s part of the charm, Headingley does for a start. At least we offer cover to pur away fans. Likewise Old Trafford.
All things considered it is a bit of a lash up, especially if we leave the sunken terracing. However it’s a good one and it does make total sense as a medium term fix.

| At sponsors event on Wednesday Matt Ellis showed image of what he plans for the new club shop and coffee shop at the ground. Just wow is all I can say, if he can get planning passed it will be a hugely impressive, very stylish improvement. It would be located on the site of the old kitchen place that Matt purchased, right on the road side, he did say planning permission could take a while as it is a roadside development.

Any indication as to when plans would be submitted?

| I shouldn’t think it’s a surprise to anyone to find out I’m not a Labour voter. But one of there policy pledges that I do hope they pursue with much vigour is to heavily reduce planning restrictions.
Now I’d never want to see a McDonalds next to Stone Henge, who would. However I fail to see what you could possibly build on that stretch of Donny road that could make it look worse!
It’s not that it’s terrible, it’s just a nothing place. Mainly cheap shops and light industry and half a dozen houses, most rented I suspect.
Apart from a few basic considerations, access and parking it should be a zone where only minimal planning is required. I can’t think of anything we could build that wouldn’t actually improve the place - especially as we have our own parking.
In an area like Agbrigg/BV a club like ours shouldn’t have to face planning restrictions. Much of it isn’t residential and the bits of it near the ground that are, are low grade housing. That’s not being snobbish either it’s just how it is. One of my best mates was born there and grew up there. He loves the place even now, but he always wanted to move on up.
If you’re ever going to improve run down areas you have to allow people total freedom. There is nothing that Trinity in particular could do that wouldn’t benefit the place. We’ve already made it look twenty times better!
Dear Mr Kear, let the MEs of this world do there stuff unencumbered. I’d trust them far more than your average planning committee or career planning officer

| It should still follow the process.
You can't just say the houses are cheap around there so you can do what you want.
However I agree it should be a quick process and there is little reason to say no.

And you would still have to park up after going through drive through and wait 20 minutes for a macdonalds employee to walk round looking at number plates and walking in circles with your order.
No place boils my innards like that sorry excuse for a chain. My kids love it but it’s ran with zero efficiency or customer service in mind.
Good to see that the coffee shop idea is a viable option. That was the first thing I suggested many months ago as one of the viable options that could generate revenue on a busy Doncaster road. Especially if you can make a drive through section and utilise the stadium car park for customer parking.
Fresh coffee, simple danish and tray bake options are all that’s needed along with a whopping big sign before the entrance to car park.
