Top six 2005 - Trinity.: |

| I won't string you up. That's your opinion. I think he is valuable and certainly is our best asset in attack and defence. Turned into a top forward. But we know all this and there's been that much speculation and posts and it yet drags on and on going in circles creating a cyclone of nothing as there is and has been for the past month nothing to report. When there is I'm sure we'll all find out then and can have a jolly chin wag then about something that's actually happened, or not.

| Think the reason why Kirmond has been kept and Tim Smith was sold,is answered on Potential signings for 2013-14 thread.
Lots of overseas names mentioned, not many domestic names mentioned.

Tim Smith wanted to leave, he did not want to stay.

If Tim wanted to leave, then good luck to him.
He had his contract upgraded twice in a short space of time.
If he got his head turned by Salfords £ signs and our impending financial woes.
The club did the right thing by cashing in, god knows he got slated on here enough times during last season.
Due to the decimation of our pack so far, it wouldn't have mattered if we had Cronk and Lockyer in the halves.

| Why, I doubt we need to sell anymore players. The original so called financial cliff amounted to £400,000. The transfers we have made excluding Smith amount to £150,000 leaving £250,000. If we then take the guesstimated salaries and benefits the monthly savings are another £50,000. To this you would hope that the board have been able to generate some additional income or what are they doing. The debt must now be almost clear but because we have stopped receiving further updates after the initial apocliptic statement who knows or is it they don't want us to know.
I know accountants are famous for having short arms and long pockets but he and the board must start to loosen the purse strings or we currently don't have a team for Boxing Day.
The alternative of course is that because he made the initial declaration that he lets us know where we are, after all we are the ones currently expected to fund the club.

At the end of the day its a short career, money talks.

| Did it matter if he wanted to stay because I did not hear Poore, Aiton and Cockayne ask for a move but they have gone. Smith was just someone we could liquidate quickly for cash with a team willing to take on his salary. I guess if we could have arranged similar deals for the three above at the same time they too would have gone. I would also remind you that Smith was under contract therefore we must have given Salford permission to talk to him or they broke the RL poaching code.

| Came in half way through the interview but Stuart Dickens was on Radio Leeds tonight. Sounded very pragmatic about the situation at Wakefield. Talked about Ben Cockayne leaving and coming in to say goodbye to everyone and mentioned a few outstanding juniors who are currently training with the First Team at the instigation of Richard Agar, and how much he is enjoying life at Wakefield and how much it was the right decision to leave Featherstone with a year left on his contract and join the coaching staff at Wakefield. I think he also mentioned Danny Kirmond winding him up in training about how soon he had forgotten about being a player!

Why should Danny a young talent who for some reason got named in the team of the year but failed to make the huge number of players in the world cup look around at a team that is crumbling before his very eyes.
Whos there now who sat in the contract negotiationsand made promises they couldn't keep?
I dont have an issue with a poster nor have I bullied or caused harassment yet just like a bad smell the "troll food" "troll alert" blah blah blah is considered to be the only reoccurring response if you say anything negative about the team you adore.
Im a mix of a pessimist and a realist and sometimes its a marmite sarnie I serve up. If you have an opposite view air it but please dont try condescending me with childish troll chants.

Good point, some people run and some people dig in and fight it out - for me DK is a fighter and i know for a 100% cast iron fact that he is very proud to be captain of Wakefield. Whether that means he stays in the end is anyones guess though.
The rest of your post is sactamonious crap though - be a pesimist or a realist by all means - many of us are but we can manage to keep a lid on it.

At last some common sense!!!
I concur with your maths (that doesn't make either of us right by the way) and assuming the other unknown issues that have cropped up and needed to be addressed havent been monumental (but lets remember who was running the show - so it is possible) I think the lions share of the finances should be sorted.
If this is the case i think the club should be putting out tentative signs that the garden is now - if not rosy - at least weeded.
This would be good PR and (unfortunately for you) show the prudent policy of MC?DC has worked well, it would also make us look a more atractive option for investment and players and it would give the supporters a timely boost before xmas and perhaps give us a chance to hit the 3k ST figure or even exceed it.
A player signing now would be a good sign of our intentions.
