However, without his "tenacity" Wakefield would never have been allowed in Super League in the first place.

If Ted sorted out NM good on him, I have seen no proof to prove or disprove it, but i am minded to believe he did.
Its a shame he was so disastrous in other areas, and he will not get the chance to bask in his glory (other than personal reflection), but thats been done to death.
NGB4C is a clot and by answering his ramblings you are only fueling his madness, ignore him and he will disappear or enter the real world.
The ONLY thing that matters and that even includes the RW debate to an extent is for us all to remain together and hope for a good result at the end of this.
Let them that can, sort it out, and use what ammunition has been launched at us, to our benefit and those with all the facts and skills to convince the PI that NM is our future.
At this moment in time NOTHING else matters, including idiots like NGB4C and RW et al.

Am another on the side of Ted in this one. He was the driving force behind Newmarket .

Its a shame we even have to bring Ted's name up now but ironically NGB4C seems to have focussed us back on the good things he did.
Unfortunately for him he will be remembered for the collapse at the end of his tenure but he clearly did good things before then.

However it turned out for him, I do know he wanted the best for Wakefield Trinity. He has paid the price for his mistake by losing his job and a lot of credibility. Lets leave it there. We are now in a new age, why look back?

Ted Richardson had his faults and I had many a disagreement with him but on the Newmarket issue I can categorically confirm that it was Ted who found Newmarket and YorkCourt.

I know that because it was myself who unknowingly put him on to Newmarket. I happen to have a bit of knowlege about old colfield sites in Yorkshire and after Thornes Park collapsed Ted was speaking to me about possible old coalfield sites. I told him there were none available for development but mentioned the former Newmarket Silkstone Colliery site at Stanley which was in Private ownership. I did not know that we were looking at Newmarket until the official announcement.

Ted Richardson found Newmarket and YorkCourt - FACT. If you dont like that that fact then its tough but you will have to accept it.

If we get a possitive outcome for Newmarket I for one will raise a glass to eveyone who has been involved with bringing the project together - including Ted.

Back on topic.....under the Freedom of Information act, are we not allowed to specifically request how much this is actually costing LCC ????

A bit more infor from the enquiry:

Sir Rodney Walker said at the public inquiry they have a 106 agreement in place for Yorkcourt to build the stadium prior to any work starting on the units. When the inspector asked to see the 106 agreement, they didn't have it. Why?? Because it's not been put together yet (bearing in mind that this should have been put together back when Wakefield Council approved the planning application a year ago, and it should have gone in with the evidence to support the application)! The inspector has said he wants to see this by the end of the inquiry.

If the 106 agreement doesn't state this and Yorkcourt say they need to build units to fund the stadium, can you see them keeping their promise?

Another funny anecdote from the inquiry. Sir Rodney said the stadium would cost £16m, and the Leeds barrister referred to Sir Rodney's autobiography which in that he stated the stadium at Newmarket would cost £19m. When quizzed about the £3m has difference, Sir Rodney responded with something along the lines of, he know's a "guy" who can knock them some money off!
