Do we still have the receipt for the Oliver Russel deal? Begining to wish it was Matty.
The problem with Russell is Giants don't use him. It all goes through Clune.
I don't know what he'll be like for us but his defense is very good for a half and his kicking both long and short us good.
You just can't tell what he'll be like if he's given control.

Quote: Trojan Horse "Russell not having a good game today.

Missed a few tackles but tbh Hudds are getting absolutely mullered in the forwards amd Huddersfield look truly woeful.

I hope Russell. Remembers how to play behind a strong pack for next season.

He’ll get a complete clean slate from me next season as it’s so hard to guage when it looks like Huddersfield are falling to bits.

I have to say and I’m going to have a punt here but I think Huddersfield could be in danger of being out of SL in 2025…

Leigh, Cas, Us all improved score. Hudds I fail to see where they can improve and they look very vulnerable to me. That’s my outside bet anyway.'"

For Giants to be in trouble Toulouse need to improve their score.

We'll be above them but I think they'll be in the 12.

I know we have this discussion every week but McMeekan looks much more comfortable at prop.

For me he is a direct replacement for Bowden.

McMeekan
Atoni
Rodwell
Uele
Is an awesome middle unit.

He played at 13 tonight. We may as well throw that in at this rate. I think he can just play any just as good and that’s why opinions split.

He was shaky today but he found some good go forward in that second half which was good to see.

You also missed Vagana.

Mckmeeken
Atoni
Rodwell
Uele
Vagana
Lingard
Cozza - more of a 13 but still an option
Bain - more of a 13 imo but still an option

Talking about props. Just watched the London game tonight and Bienek was solid again tonight for London. May be an option that wouldn’t break the bank.

Browsing on the saints discussions and Royle is highly thought of and praised by most with them feeling he hasn’t been given the chance. Could certainly be worth a play for him. Could be another Ashurst in the making.

I didn't miss them. I just named my starting 4.

If he played 13 he just played it like a middle as he packed in the front row and was spelled with the props. But the point still stands. I prefer him in the middle not on the edge.

Atoni was dreadful last time he played SL, there was nothing awesome about him. He's got a lot still to prove next season.

I didn’t realise you meant starting 4. I thought you meant the forward unit as a collective. Regardless, there’s more than enough firepower whether he starts at prop or elsewhere.

You may prefer him in the middle but I prefer him in the middle or edge. I believe he can play a both to a good standard and I think it’s good to have those options that’s all.

Not totally correct. Yes for the early and mid part but he improved a lot the final 3rd when Dave came back. Did put in a few solid and good performances at the back end.

I’m sure he will be motivated to continue his uplift in form into SL.

Let’s be honest here , the team/club weren’t up to much that fateful year . Our major signing turned out to be a damp squib ,a constant turnstile of players on 2 weeks contracts was not conducive to great rugby . Thankfully I feel that relegation was the best thing to ever happen to this club in the last 20+ years, and a much brighter future is now assured

Started off poor but got into some good form once Fifita returned and gave him some inspiration and confidence.

We are re-entering the fray at a great time Imo , lots of the big clubs are in a state of flux and I feel will take some years to get back to their best . If the opening fixtures are kind and we can get some points under our belts early doors ,our confidence will sky rocket and settle us in nicely.

Agree 100% Ketty, I know it’s another season but there will be some clubs in the SL who need a big clear out and will not bring the quality that they want, so hopefully wakey will pick these clubs off icon_razz.gifRAY:

Liked the look of Rourke yesterday, isn't what you would class as particularly quick but because he has a very easy balanced running style he is able to cover ground quickly, made a superb cover tackle to stop what looked a certain try, was sound under kicks in defence, and can get up High to apply pressure on attacking kicks.
One area I felt he needs to improve upon is chiming into the line, there were one or two issues with it yesterday where he came at the wrong time or he came in, got the ball and didn't really seem sure of what to do next, that hesitation enabled the defence to recover. Have to say a couple of problems were caused by poor decisions by the halves for example the SO gave him a ball out on the flanks which resulted in Rourke being picked up by about 4-5 defenders and carried into touch, when you watched the replay from a different and wider angle there were no other London Bronchials players on that side, so why run that play?
Think he will be a useful acquisition for us though
