| Quote: jonh "INOUTSean Ainscough is a great example of how it can all go wrong. Looked World Class as a junior. Tore the Australian Academy team apart. First season for Wigan scored a try a game many of which were self made. Great pace over 30 yards, fantastic step etc. Season 2 came on the radar weaknesses were noted and teams exploited them, now the thing he will be remembered for is his attempted kick into touch last year in lower league rugby.
History is littered with wingers who have a good debut year, and maybe a second then vanish into obscurity.
I've expressed my opinion on him earlier, I think he is solid in all areas on the match except in defence especially positionally, I don't see anything that makes me sit up and think "wow" that kid looks special, but that is just my opinion. Quite why you feel the need to quote me constantly in your posts in not sure but I am flattered.
Offering a 4 year deal after such limited exposure to first team rugby all be it a relatively successful one when he has 3 years left anyway is an odd one and I think born more out of a PR attempt after the recent losses than necessity.
Apologies by the way for the drama queen comment, I've never met you so am unsure of your sex, it seems my assumption was incorrect.'"
Yes, you made your point in your first post jonh, shut up now please

Back to the subject of the discussion thread
We all know who that is.
Think we've got crossed wires possibly?. Are you referring to Tom Johnstone interest from one Super League Club?
The bottom of the above article in YEP referees to either Joe Keyes or an Australian half back coming to Trinity which was what I was referring to and directly relates to this discussion about the Trinity Squad for 2016.
Wonder if the Australian half back is Shaun Nona out of contract from Melbourne Storm and ex Northern Pride player coached by Demetriou..

Well, if isn't Hudds, that'd be a first.

| Asmadasa I was referring to MC's comment about a club enquiring after Johnson and presumed it was the usual suspects.

| We're all pinning our hopes on Tom Johnstone getting a bucket full of tries next season which we all know he is capable of, but to a large degree a good winger is dependent on good centres for ball possession. Do we have those centres????

That sounds like a spectacular Lindsey Rutherford try in a televised cup tie, as I recall.

| Whoever said Nona I doubt very much he'd even get close to getting a visa. Not played one NRL game, no internationals and as far as I'm aware doesn't qualify for a European passport (could be wrong).

Maybe it could be Wakefields move for London Broncos half back Joe Keyes has collapsed. according to some reports "A Super League club's move for half back collapses" it doesn't name the club or half back but states the SL club has failed to lure the half back away from his current employers. the hunt for more creative depth may not be over though, maybe Wakey still have someone in mind from Down under

www.totalrl.com/gossip-super-lea ... collapses/
Mentioned Nona as just been released by Melbourne and has loads of potential and played for ex Trin favourite Demetriou previously.
I don't know the criteria for Visas so you may be right if he hasn't played internationally like Michael Sio....
Don't know other quality Australian half backs that are available that the article may be referring to? Langi has been released and is an international half back or lock so another possibility to get a Visa? Brian Smith signed him for the Roosters in 2012 so will know him well..
