Speaking of the cup.
It starts the weekend after next with a split round.
With this and our lower numbers this year, I propose we use round 5 as a preliminary round.
As there are seemingly only 18 active posters atm, we only need to lose 2 before round 6.
What I propose is that we use a 'highest 16 scores go through' system for round 5 rather than the usual draw, which will return for round 6 (more details later for the newbies, but the same as previous years).
If we do a draw there will be two fixtures and 14 byes, a bit disappointing if you've made your predictions and then they become irrelevant. It is also likely that someone who doesn't post gets through on a bye or someone with a good score goes out. It just seems simpler and fairer to ensure we get a nice clean start for round 6 with 16 posters left.
Any suggestions/thoughts?
Added to this will be the remaining four SL fixtures which will count as the usual round. (easy bonus points?) so a total of 12 predictions to make plus the attendance of the televised cup game. Busy week.
