| So many great ideas - and so many of them tried - badly!
Every good idea the club has started has ended with them just petering out, or worse still, in acrimony with the companies involved.
I'd rather they did a small amount of deals and do them well, rather then taking on too much once again!

Absolutely right, there's no point in spitting in the wind.
We should be carrying out all tasks in a professional manner and seeing them through.
Although we need to look at the long term, right now we need effort vs reward to try and drag as much income into the club as possible.
There are some excellent ideas on here but, we do need some additional income quickly.

| Noticed JP Tweeted about his 'love of Wakey' and his 'addiction to Yorkshire Tea'...Is it worth the club making contact with Bettys and Taylors Group?
The makers of Yorkshire tea based in Harrogate have been seeing profits rise year on year they maybe willing to offer some form of sponsorship, Typhoo sponsor Saints. Just a thought

I am sure this will generate plenty of activity.'"
I'm not sure what activity you are generating, but a cold shower for you may suffice

Belly, that is so un PC it's unbelievable, it breaks every rule of sexism.
But for the good of our great club I'll put £50 in!!
Ps. How about an adult style cheerleaders Xmas calendar, a bit like the calendar girls one?

It'd be ok if the players did it though!

| Darts or snooker exhibition night in Cats? Easy enough to organise (darts easier than getting a snooker table in obviously), get people to pay against a pro, auction of merchandise, photos taken with the pro? Get the players involved as well. I've been to a few of them, and they're good fun and get the punters in. Know a guy who organises them too.

Yes - a friend of mine took one to MC last week that could, if handled properly, generate a 6 figure income for the club.
Watch this space.

What is Cash 4 Clubs?
Cash 4 Clubs is a sports funding scheme which gives clubs a unique chance to apply for grants to improve facilities, purchase new equipment, gain coaching qualifications, and generally invest in the sustainability of their club. Since 2008 over £100,000 has been given out in grants to 139 community sports clubs across the UK. It's a flexible, no-fuss way to get some help for your club or team.
The Cash 4 Clubs scheme is funded by Betfair and is supported by SportsAid, the charity for sports people. Betfair and SportsAid have worked in partnership for a number of years and both organisations understand the importance of community sport in promoting an active lifestyle and stimulating local pride. It's a great time to be involved with sport and Cash 4 Clubs can hopefully play an important role in helping clubs to sustain and develop themselves.
How do clubs apply?
Clubs can apply for a Cash 4 Clubs Sports Grant by filling out our application form. For details please click here.
What grants are available?
There are three tiers of grants at £250, £500 and £1,000 which are awarded on a discretionary basis. For details click here.
Who can apply?
Any sports club can apply as long as they are registered with their sports National Governing Body or local authority. For further details please check our policies here.
How are the grants chosen?
Grants are awarded twice a year after selection by our committee. For more details please click here.
What is Betfair's involvement?
Betfair created the innovative Cash 4 Clubs programme to provide community sports clubs in the UK with much needed funds.
This is linked to Betfair's vision to be a champion of regional and community sport, which evolved from its successful 'Charity of the Year' partnership with SportsAid. Betfair recognises the importance of sport in building and maintaining communities and therefore Cash 4 Clubs fits with its much broader community investment programme. Betfair is committed to giving money to charities and supporting sports development both in this country and overseas.
Why partner with SportsAid?
SportsAid is "the charity for sports people" in the UK, helping the next generation of young British sportsmen and women to succeed. By working closely with the National Governing Bodies, they ensure that sportspeople get the required help and recognition, and get it when they need it most. Intervention at such a crucial time is often the difference between a young sports person continuing in their chosen sport or quitting.
Every one of the talented young people SportsAid is able to help each year has had a great introduction to sport through their school or local club and Cash 4 Clubs is a innovative way to provide a little help back to this part of the sporting landscape. SportsAid is well-placed to widen the awareness of Cash 4 Clubs and can be an efficient channel through which to direct the funding.
For more details please visit the SportsAid website.

| What about using the car parking area for weekly car boots throughout the winter weekends? £5 per car and £1 per customer should bring in the money especially as hard standing and not weather dependant like other sites.

Do you really class as a community sports club when we're a professional club and business.
Yes, we need money, but not sure taking it from the hands of small, 'real' community clubs is the way forward.

Winter mid weeks even, during the summer there is a Wednesday car boot at Hemsworth, there's always folk there, I'd guess people would like a hard standing winter car boot sale.

It's done at Chesterfield FC to good effect and is very popular due to the hard standing nature of the car park. WTW would need to apply for a Car Boot Licence from the local authority but it shouldn't cost the club anything to run if volunteers help. They charge £9.20 per car also! It's on Sundays and is very busy.
