Although I’m pretty sure the club will take whatever we can offer I’m pretty sure they won’t be pushing it themselves. One, I don’t think it’s a priority and secondly and to their credit I think they are reluctant to ask fans for more money at this point.
As an alternative we could go for a Mail drop perhaps which in many ways is more direct and targeted. Anyway I’m just speculating as I haven’t got all the figures in yet.'"
If the club aren't too keen on the advertising boards, is there some other form of advertising / promotion which they feel would be more cost effective (in terms of spend v return ?

| Genuine comment here, but don't you actually need passing foot traffic to increase the exposure? I know it's lockdown but Trinity Walk is dead.

To be honest I tend to agree. What I intend to do when I see MC/JM says the forum is offering xxx£ for a publicity drive and suggest to us what they think is the best way to approach the subject. They may agree that TW advertising is the way or may have a better suggestion.
So let's see what we have in the kitty first?
So are you in?

Fair comment on TW, but things are opening up. This all stemmed from the WAFC digital advert going into Wakefield on the A61, that has plenty of passing traffic and schools and traffic lights so people sit there spending 1-2 minutes staring at nothing other than the billboard. Ultimately it's about creating awareness, keeping the club in the mindset of potential support, because its not cut and dry that x amount of money spent on this will bring in x amount of extra punters it's a hard one to justify to a cash strapped club, particularly when an accountant by trade is running matters
For me the below image with the Coming Soon, Be Ready and all the hashtag malarkey would be immense but I accept it would have to form part of a wider campaign as its not clear what its promoting.

| Ok, folks the Trinity Walk screen, which IMHO is far and away the best one is a non-starter as far as I can see. For two weeks you don't get much change from 4k!!! It's also booked up for months although I got the impression they couldn't have been less interested in us. I honestly think that's a waste of some serious money that the club could use elsewhere, just my opinion.
Anyway, I've looked at the alternatives for our budget and I've come up with this. I think it's much better value for money and will make more hits.
15,000 A5 leaflets printed and delivered for £975 if we can get that high. I've not run any of this past the club but for me, it's a no-brainer. Needs to be done for the first match where there are no Covid restrictions IMO or it's a bit pointless.
I'd suggest we target residential areas where the demographic have some interest, Eastmoor, Sandal, Walton, Crofton, Sharlestone, Stanley, Lupset etc. If we can go up to £1,265 (you could add Normanton, Wrenthorpe, Outwood etc) but I'm sure people at the club would have a better idea.
Obviously any other suggestions welcome.
I'm also willing to chuck in for free 200 A3 posters and a downloadable A4 version if the club is interested and people are willing to distribute them.

| for me this is a great idea. targeting all those new houses on Neil Fox way would be a great start. If people could distribute targeted areas, it is also a great way to exercise in the current climate. count me in

If there was an option for digital marketing I think that is definitely the way to go Vasty, I have seen a lot of backlash on Organisations recently from the eco brigade when receiving advertisements through the post printed on paper, also whilst ever Covid is around having someone going door to door with leaflets could be frowned upon by some, just trying to think reputationally for the club, it`s in now way my opinion by the way!
Have we looked at other digital advertising opportunities around the city and the cost associated with them? I agree on the Trinity Walk point, 4K is well inflated in my opinion, especially in current circumstances, it`s a shame they aren't more open to form a partnership with the club with some of the businesses in the city, I think there would be a great deal in it for both parties.

| The best way to get to the younger audience nowadays is to get someone with a ton of followers on twitter / instagram, that they all follow like sheep, to "advertise" the product via their channels. Being an older fart who doesn't bother with social media I believe they are called "influencers".
I don't believe older style advertising, as good as what has been shown on here is, would really hit home with the younger generation this day and age.

Frankly, I don't give a monkey about the eco lobby, sorry but I don't nor do I think there is anything wrong with leafleting when done correctly, sorry but I think you're being a bit super woke here. I also seriously doubt people with those levels of whatever they are, are ever likely to be RL fans. Paper is about as eco friendly as you can get.
Again it's not up to me but sometimes I think we forget that the old ways are some times the best, I'm pretty sure the club already has a handle on most forms of marketing considering the amount I receive.
Again again, if you don't like the idea take your name off the list, it's your choice, I won't hold it against you. However, for those who do like it then its an option and if the club like it, it's a goer.
As for other option then no because frankly, I don't think they are worth the effort or will have the impact. If you want to feel free, I'd suggest our budget will be around £950.
Also, feel free all the same to find other options and I'm not being catty but actual ideas with costs etc.
I'm more than happy to pass the baton on this one trust me but if you want me to sort it then that's my recommendation and I don't have the time or inclination to look any further. As I say I'm not being huffy but that's my offer, thanks.

Aye! who said we were after younger fans? I didn't. Fans are fans regardless of age and in my opinion, there is as much potential in families and older people as kids.
I'm 58 yet I'm the one pushing this! On a personal note, I'm getting a bit sick and tired of this young person first mentality.
I'm sure that's not how you meant it but it certainly sounds a bit blinkered. We have to target everyone and huge amounts of people can't abide social media.
As I say, that's the offer I'm making. Anybody who doesn't like it is totally entitled to remove their pledge, no complaints from me, I utterly respect that.
I accept the brief has changed from the first post so fair doo's, if someone can raise 4k they can have my £25 pounds but I'm not pursuing it as I think its a waste of time and money as are all the other alternatives on offer IMHO.
Just a thought, if we could raise 4k that would go a long way to another signing which in my opinion would be a far better way to use that sort of cash, just a thought.

I don`t give a monkeys either to be fair, but I`m not responsible for Wakefield Trinity and the reputation of the club am I? I am just aware that from correspondence with my partners organisation who are partnered with the the club on a community based project that the club was reluctant to distribute paper based leaflets out for a community project they were involved in.
Unfortunately heading up an organisation, you have to put your snowflake head on sometimes Vasty, a sad reflection of the times we live in and the "cancel culture" generation, on a personal level I am far from Woke, probably as far from woke as you can get, I love the Ben Shapiro "Facts not feelings" model. Just throwing it out there Sustainability is top of the agenda for a lot of organisations right now.
I have a friend who has just advertised his business around some hotspots in Leeds and he is as tight as they come so I will have a word and see if there is anything he is willing to share with me, I will feedback if I get anything out of him
I wont withdraw my money by the way whatever the model is we go with, I will go with whatever the majority proposal is, or what direction the club want to go in.
