My usual coffee isn't anything close to helping come to that conclusion.
Hope you're right though
I’ve watched Trinity for a while now and we far more often win the games we are least expected to and blow the games we should win at a canter. It may not be this game but it will be one like it I can guarantee you.
In the Inevitable trinity five year great to crap cycle it’s due to turn about now or fairly close too.
No stats, no science, no pro or anti Chester bias it’s just how we are, what fun! You’ll be left scratching your head wondering why they weren’t playing like that before as they suddenly look like world beaters. Of course the sting will come when the next week somebody like HKR puts fifty on us.

| We will not score against Wigan no matter what halves combination is drawn out of the bag this week - that will be their main focus, nilling us, regardless of what they do in attack...I just hope it's not more than the 58 Catalans posted against us

I agree with you that, Trinity have, over the years, pulled out some great shock results.
Wins against Saints, Catalan and an opener at Wigan a few years ago but, this side doesn't look to have that same spirit and desire, not by a long way.
We have too many players just going through the motions and an absolute lack of any on field organisation.
I usually attend around 25 games a season and at the moment, I'm struggling to even get to the pub to watch, although I have seen every pre lock down game "in the flesh" and suffered every post lockdown game on the TV.
The big fear for us at the moment is that selling S/T's for next season will be nigh on impossible.
Most S/T holders (rightly) waived their right to a refund but, with appalling form and uncertainty over what may happen next season both on and off the field, I can foresee many S/T holders waiting to see what happens and this could be catastrophic.
Conversely, if the side was seen to be doing well and at least busting a gut on the field, fans would be far, far happier to "take a chance" on S/T's for next season
I dont think Friday will be the game when we turn the corner but, we absolutely need to change things around and quick.

Fair enough.
I missed our first try (Jowitt?) because I was stuck in a queue for a sausage roll.

| Quote: reedy "So what's acceptable in our game against Wigan.'"
You know what reedy my liccle lad, I think it would change person to person for what is deemed as acceptable. I'd personally be satisfied with a change in attitude, I want to see a revised Trinity out there who want to put on a show. The 2pts aren't likely but providing we're putting up some sort of fight for 80 minutes rather than trying to dominate a side with 12 minutes to play, I'll be happy with it.
You never know, we might be second bottom come next week depending on what the Robins do against Leeds. A 23+ loss puts them bottom (at least for a couple of days)
Be interesting to see the 17 this week considering the comments on certain players returning to action.

Memories play tricks. They said that about all those teams in the past and I think if your honest we’ve had far more clueless and gutless teams than this one. It’s just that this team is in focus because it’s the current one.
I could if I was bothered go back and find numerous a Trinity teams that have been far worse with far worse results. Plenty of 60 and even 70 point thrashings. Where as this team has lacked composure it’s still played some good RL through parts of most games. I’ve seen Trinity teams that quite literally couldn’t put a pass together. Jowitts first try against Hull would have been the try of the season had they been able to actually score it,
It’s hard to keep some perspective when everything seems to be going wrong but in my opinion this team has more spirit and talent than most of our previous duffer squads.

Almost nail on head.
I agree that our current squad does have more talent than so many others over the past 25/30 years and that is what makes this season (and the majority of last season) so damn disappointing.
Harbin or Kear would have killed to have these players at their disposal but, for whatever reason, the team is somewhat less than the (theoretical) sum of the parts.
In any half decent side, the opposite is true.
Taking account of their individual ability, how many players this season, would you say are currently hitting 7/10 or better individually, for the full 80 minutes.
When you try and go through the side and apply this measure, it's certainly less than the fingers of one hand.
We desperately need a midfield general or something close.

The last line is the point though. Harbin and Kear had a general.

| Chester’s had 5 years to find a midfield general!!
Finn did well, I wish we had him now, but let’s be honest he was a cheap option who’d been cast off from Cas after a career in the lower division. He worked for us for a season maybe two but he was never going to be the longer term solution to our controlling halfback problem.
Chester’s had 5 years to manipulate his budget, to cut here and chop there so as to create a larger financial offer to a quality halfback. Over the last 3 years there have been halfbacks available so it’s no good moaning now that there’s no one out there who we can afford.
Sorry it simply doesn’t wash, it’s a problem of his own creation because he’s had time to foresee and avoid it but simply hasn’t used his budget well at all.

Exactly, for the evolution of this team, replacing Fin & Grix properly was the priority, and it hasn't been done. We have had 5 players have a go at full back, and I still couldn't tell you who is first choice!

| According to form last seasons top try scorer, top assists, top metre maker, and most break maker, has been dropped for the Wigan game along with Jowitt, Josh Wood and Navarette, keep it under your hat because Chester hasn't as yet informed them, apparently.

I thought Clogger & Crew were brought in way before Chester arrived. Maybe by Agar??
