| Never known a crowd whinge at a referee as much in my life. It was becoming embarrassing at times, particularly as Hicks was consistent (whether good or bad) for both teams. There were plenty of poor calls which went against Salford too, the worst one was the blatant two-man ball strip on Theo Fages only for Hicks to give it a knock on. Wakefield were also off-side plenty and were rightly penalised. Also, how many times did Godinet dummy the play of the ball in order to milk a penalty for off-side?
You cant blame the referee for yesterdays result.

I think you will find we have never been offside ever and are honest as the day is long.

Interesting viewpoint.
What about Godinet being pulled for offside from his own kick or Hicks ignoring 3 or 4 high shots even when he was looking directly at the play.
But, the worst call was Wakefield being pulled back for a scrum (with Wakefield feed) when Godinet had gone clear with support.
Of course Wakefield lost the game because they weren't smart enough in possession.

| Referee's have been consistently bad this year ,some of the calls are baffling to say the least. One of the issues though is the perceptions from the crowd , say in football for example , most of the decisions from the refs are handball and fouls which are usually agreed with by about 80-90% of the crowd . With rugby though there are that many types of penalty that they are pretty much all a judgement call , eg ,hands in the play the ball , not letting the player up which depending on which team you support you'll either agree or disagree. As a Salford fan , we've been on the wrong end of plenty of calls , both live and after matches but from my view Hicks was just poor , a lot of penalties given to both sides which were no worse than previous unpenalised instances which didn't help the game to flow along with the weather but with my red glasses on I saw a few high shots on my side of the pitch on Fages and Patterson to name 2 which went unpunished yet the touch judge couldn't get on quick enough on the seated side of the pitch even though none of the players , crowd or Hicks saw anything , like I said it's all about perception

| Hicks was poor because he simply isn't up to it. Having said that, our discipline is poor and we help the opposition just about every match, regularly 'piggy-backing' them up the field.
We play dumb and the sooner we get someone on the pitch who takes charge of his players in the way a captain should then the better. I like Kirmond but I sometimes think he should be more involved with the players on the park - encouraging discipline.

If as you say you've been on the wrong end of plenty of calls, then surely you must sympathise with us for the shabby display by the referee towards us yesterday, your not unique in being the only club treated badly by referees, we'd have you in tears if we recalled all the poor decisions gone against us, we lost the game yesterday because we were not quite good and smart enough, ably assisted by a very inconsistant referee.

Home crowd in booing the ref shocker.
I take it you haven't been to Leeds and heard the South stand before?

I wonder if the Salford fans would have accepted defeat with such good grace if the boot had been on the other foot and Hicks had favoured us as much instead of them, I somehow doubt it.

Edited for accuracy.

| I'm normally one to get on at Refs but Hicks was dreadful yesterday. Letting Salford lay on so long that they had time for a nap on top of the tackled player. Very disappointed that Salford came to spoil like that but he should have got a grip of it.
The pull back when we were away from the knock on was just the icing on the cake.

| Hicks was responsible for that never-was spear tackle that cost Catalans a point in Newcastle. He can be as pants as he likes as there a very few alternatives at the moment.

| Hicks got only 60/100 rating in todays RL Express. Terrible display of refereeing particularly when advantage wasn't granted yet we got the head and feed in the resulting scrum. How do these people conveniently not spot something that 3000 can see from much further away???

| If Hicks was in front of Reilly and couldn't see a knock when he scored then how does the linesman when 4 metres behind him. I couldn't say 100% it was a good grounding from the angle just seen on sky but I would have thought BOD might apply but when it's Wakey why would it. Time to move on I guess.

| Just watched Super League show and their first try was a knock on first and then a forward pass to release the full back for the break.
Thanks
