If anyone does see him ask why he was not willing to listen to a local multi millionaire owner of a rather large car supermarket based on Denby Dale Rd when he approached offering investment and sponsorship in the club

Quote: Trebor "People need to remember that if it wasn't for James the club would have folded two years ago but he fought on and found glover, the guy you all thought was our saviour! James is still their and facing the music. Glover is conveniently on a bike ride. Life is constantly a roller coaster ride for us fans but I can't see how anyone could have envisaged all these debts from the previous regime still coming to haunt us and the man who said he didn't need our money peddle off so quickly. Glover must have given James the permission and assurances to spend the money and now it's biting us. Chairman spending club money and leaving sounds familiar. At least carter appears abut more realistic. And to be fair what have we lost so far? Oh yes a wizard who couldn't cast a spell without Sykes reading him his spells! Hard times ahead but let's pull together and we can get through this. Keep fighting amongst ourselves and we look like Salford mid season when they have the oap players crocked and the thugs banned and cockroach realises noble is crap. Really in the mire'"

I've had enough. Tomorrow will be my last game as it stands now. Got a season ticket for next year but I can't be bothered. Ted: kept us going years but ultimately put family first towards end of tenure. Glover: promised so much started to deliver then ultimately failed big time not keeping an eye on things. Carter: sold smith which admittedly was a must. Said he'd try to raise funds before selling anymore player but now I hear aiton kirmo and amor have gone. Possibly Collis too. Seems to me like its another one who says one thing but then does the opposite. At least have the decency to tell us your true intentions daddy cool, if you want a fire sale to raise funds then fair dos but tell us that. I can't see Tuson coming now and I can't blame him. What next are we accepting a parachute payment to go down at the end of the season (which is what I've heard we've been offered) if so that really could spell the end for wtw. It's been emotional and today is a sad day but I have lost all faith and belief in this once great club. As for elston. Twice he's been in place as CEO and twice we've been on the brink of collapse. He may well have saved the club but he's also nearly bankrupted us twice so for me he has got go and go completely.

Quote: captaincaveman "Or any serious investors (who may or may not be out there), I am pretty sure will not touch wakefield with a barge pole while ever they feel they are handing money over to the same guy who has twice taken the club to the brink of extinction.

Business is built on confidence in people and his credibility is shot!

If there is something else behind the story, then it needs to come out ASAP because otherwise it looks like the new broom ave failed to remove the problem.

Also if this scenario is not of elstons making , then the real culprit should go. Someone was and is responsible.'"

Well if you know something to the contrary then you better spill the beans because as we stand whilst ever Elston remains the chance of raising anywhere near the funds required from fans and local businesses is zero.

Same old same old.....insinuations from those supposed to be in the know . There are thousands of faithful supporters who have years of watching Wakefield behind that deserve to know whats going off.

Is everyone mental on here ? of course its Elston's fault, FFS, he was CEO, and with responsibility comes accountability, its cruel, but true, plus Glover was at the Club everyday, so he himself was more like a General Manager than a Chairman, which makes this situation even more incompetent, they are both equally to blame, Glover's only defence is naivety, and as Mopsey said, none of them down there can be trusted, or believed, and all they have done over 18 months is pay no one, and destroy the chance of a clean slate through pure and simple arrogance, and INCOMPETANCE, its appalling.

WOW! 'I've heard a rumour - that's it, I'm off!'

Come on people, we've heard a million rumours and some are true - most are not.

James is back doing what he's best at - namely raising funds through bringing in investors and sponsors and via the community work and, more recently, the college stuff. He's the best man for that job and almost everything we have that is good is down to him to some degree.

To leave him as was would be wrong, to throw him out would also be wrong. The Chairman knows this and that is his call. If we don't trust the Chairman in this then what do we trust him in - and if that is the case why bother to try and save / rescue the club, let's just all forget it and walk away!

Being angry is natural, but how many of us get angry, kick off, then find out something that we didn't know which explains things differently and we feel foolish for doing so?

James was CEO under Ted, but not for very long and we were in a state before he took over. In that time he brought Andrew to the table - and he has put a significant amount into the club. Since the takeover James has been instrumental in bringing the current board members to the table - hence we have people in place to pick up and run with it.

As for player departures and fire sales - I believe Michael when he says he doesn't want to sell, but ask which of the players have asked to leave - and on that basis, and with transfer fees on the table that can assist the club going forward, why would you not allow a deal to go through? It's a tough call either way and whilst it may appease us to keep a certain player, it may leave that player very unhappy!

In essence, kick-off if you like, but I think you are premature and without full knowledge - as most of us are just now - and any judgement you make should reflect that.

No-one is happy with the situation, some of us are trying to help matters and we need you, when you have calmed down, and many more passionate fans like you with us!

Quote: deeHell "There is no putting this problem to one side. The bad feeling towards Elston is at the point were his presence at the club will be a major factor in fans not buying a season ticket.

The guy went on radio and blatantly lied to us all
. He made a complete fool of everybody connected to the club. The spin was clearly an attempt to boost ST sales before the end of August deadline. If had any integrity he would resign with immediate effect.'"

What if he believed he was telling the truth when he gave the interview.

All I'm saying is judge him when you know all the facts and if you come to the same conclusion that's fine. But you will have at least made up your mind in the knowledge of the facts.

I'm not his wing man, and I think many have made mistakes, but there are also things that James is better than anyone else at and I think it would be a mistake to lose those values from our club.

If you don't come to the games next season Kev you owe me. I'll be very surprised if you aren't there. I think we will have a shell of a team next year but it will be our team and a team that we can afford. Have upgraded to platinum today and wait to see what is said at the ST meeting before considering if I can give anymore to the cause WTID

There are people who can forgive and there are others who can't.
The dilemma is there are a lot of fans and investors out there who will not entertain Trin while certain individuals are at the club.
Does the club sacrifice the individuals for the masses?

Thought he was been retained for his rugby league knowledge not to do with sponsorship etc.
