Quote: chapster "agreed.........and could get a lot lot worse, dread to see what the euros and olympics will do to our attendances, or some decent weather!

reasons its worst?
one too many false dawns, sure we were rescued, sure we got super league somehow, and we may even get newmarket, and at this moment i care not one jot for all those 3, because watching rl is about pride and passion, the buzz of a shock win in a close game, wanting your favourite players to do well, looking forward to every game, hurting if we lose.

except i dont any more, I more go to have a laugh with mates, and frankly i dont need SL, newmarket or a tin roof over my head to do that.'"

Got it one Chapster. All Courtesy of the SL dream.

Quote: charlie63wildcat "God Im glad someone is saying it how it is. The happy clappies were on here yesterday making me almost feel guilty for being disgusted by the half hearted gutless performance I saw once we fell 12 behind. I am not holding back any more....AGAR OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!OUT OUT!!!! Remember watching us beat Hull at KC last year? Remember how Hull played? De Ja Vu anybody?? AGAR OUT!!! He should never have been in'"

Too right, problem is we're stuck with it for 3 years thanks to Elston throwing 3 year deals out like confetti. All we have is a team of players who are on a last pay day or who can't get a deal anywhere else. Agar makes the same excuses every week yet changes nothing. When is he going to be made accountable for his actions? One prop on the bench again, an experienced sl hooker on loan at fev, while a waif like Wood who isn't even championship standard plays 10 mins a match. He's a joke. Definitely the worst season for me and I've seen some poor Wakey teams but at least they had spirit and gave 100%.

This season has been a complete bore fest. The only highlight being the opening night at Widnes when we refused to play the stool pigeon role and took it to Widnes in the second half. Apart from that... nothing.

LOL not even close yet. Like KK said , 2000, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2010, and 2011 were worse.

I'll also wait till the end of the season before passing it off as the worst ever.

You all have a choice if you dont like it dont come and support the club, its thick and thin sometimes at this time its a bit thin, Rome wasnt built in a day, There is always our neighbours to watch if you are not happy.

I have seen some gash rugby at BV over the years but some of you lot on here seem disgruntled we are in SL. We are 2 props (good hard yard makers) shor, too many back rowers and some good honest talent coming through. Young Trout got a game on Sunday he wsnt spectacular but neither did he let the team down, many are baying for youngsters to be blooded, if you cannot see thats happening then you need to get to spec savers or get the rose tints off. I am certain AG has a business plan for the club to improve year on year, this year I would suggest has not gone to plan, I dont blame the c,ub they had no idea on the future paid inflated wages last year to put a team out and RETAIN most of them for NL (this is why the club had to pay players off in the close season). The type of players we needed were not available we have what we have support them or dont thats up to you this is my City and my team I have always been red white and blue through and through in lean times and good times.

Life could be much worse but hey this is my hobby watching my team.

Finally if you take a holistic approach the club has never been in a better position. Oh and the posters on here clearly dont represent the total view of the fan base after all another 8500 turned up on Sunday, thats another fantastic turnout I dread to think what we will pull once we turn the corner on the pitch. Finally for me next season is the one when all the systems and processes from top to bottom will be embedded and thats the time to judge.

There are a lot of things that just don't feel good this season. There is yet to be any "star" players emerging who's name is assosiated with Wakefield Wildcats. Have you heard any single players names being chanted like when JD, Rooney etc played for us. The only players in this team that are worthy of having their name on the back of your shirt are Cockayne and Amor. I think this team is very bland with no emerging memorable players at all and to top that it has far too many Aussie has beens or never was players.

If you mean those neighbours that attracted 15,000 last night and although they lost, the atmosphere and standard of rugby was far superior to what we dish up at Belle Vue.
There was no one more critical than me about Wakey people supporting Leeds but now I can understand why they do it although I would never do it myself.

Not knocking your post mate as I really admire your loyalty, but the fact that so many of us no longer feel the same about our club is really worrying. 5 newbie season ticket holders I know have stopped comming. 2 of our group of 5 do not intend to come again next season. A few thousand left the ground on Sunday looking totally fed up with about 10 minutes to go. I know the hardcore supports will always be around but if this continues Belle Vue will be a much quiter place next season.

Worse than the 50's when Blackpool knocked us out of the challenge cup in first round at Belle Vue, I believe it Was Neil's first Game. We all just went for the laugh those days but at least we did only pay half a crown to get in and if you were like me had a mate on turnstile just crawled under bar.

The ones in bold I agree, but the other not IMO. Those teams were all cobbled together for peanuts - as I keep saying this one cost a bit despite what those in denial suggest.

It's not the worst team by some way but it's has to be one of the most under achieving. Reminds me of the teams Peter Tunks and Mitch Brennan put together in the mid 90's - lots of names but no umph.

I am relieved others feel the same. As mentioned, thousands are now leaving home games early and eventually, will not come back for more.
We are an entertainment sport and as such, providing very little. There is nothing gladiatorial about our fare. We are in danger of having our own Leeds/ Wigan walk if things continue.
It's also a bit strange that some of the big posters have avoided comment.
I am as passionate as the next man with my support and had some magical moments down the years. We are on a knife edge at the moment and the next month is crucial in NM and many ways.
The crux is the style of play, weird player roatation, and ignoring props in lower leagues who could provide as much grunt but more passion than some of the overpaid overseas wasters we currently employ. The style of play is turning people away from the club before the 80 has finished.

To me one of the problems is the inability to defend out wide.
A problem that has strangely been there a while no matter who the coaches or players are.
This suggests to me that work is not being done in the middle where too many players are being sucked in leaving the outside backs isolated and on a hiding to nothing.
This then would suggest as many point out that our pack is struggling in defense to hold the opposition pack and the result of this is that when we are on the attack we have less energy to go forward.
Conclusion a couple of raw boned , no nonsense props to to knock the opposition about a bit.
Oh I just read back and thats what many are advocating.

Our execution in attack is the worst I have seen in 25 years.
How many times to we fail to complete a set or make a hash of the last tackle play.
The disappointment is that we appeared to be signing better quality players than we had last season but, the reality was that we cleared out/ lost around 16 players and with the odd exception, Aiton, Mathers and Kirmond (plus Amor who was here last season), we didnt improve the squad. Indeed, Rinaldi and Moore and even Korkidas are better than what we have.
Maybe we are guilty of expecting too much too soon but, as I have said many times before, the measure of a good coach is to ensure that the players play to the peak of their ability and our coach is so far of this benchmark that it is getting to be depressing icon_biggrin.gifEPRESSED:

Think you're missing Kirmond from that very short list, other than that it has been disappointing so far.

Aiton is also a class player, but is struggling to show it too much in our side, but he does not give up like some seem to be doing at the minute.

I've said it previously, we appear to have lost that all important "Wakefield Trinity backs to the wall" spirit that has seen us through so many SL seasons. Part of that I will attribute to us being battered in the pack all the time but some of it has to go down to the wrong type of players for us.
The Catalans win came on the back of a huge disappointment and sense of injustice at the "defeat" at Warrington. That to me, gave us the motivation and spirit that has been lacking in other games, but it hasn't lasted. We need something to fire us up/ bring us together as a team once more - can the derby game against Cas do it? I'm praying so.... icon_razz.gifRAY: icon_razz.gifRAY:

Once the coach was sorted this season was always going to be a dead rubber. THe challenge for AG is does he want another two?
