| Turning point was Bentham not awarding us penalty when they ripped the ball out we would have finished the game off then. That said we made it hard for us and easy for them in the 2nd half but we still won TRINITY FOREVER

| It's a win but not pretty. We should really have blown them away in the first half -what gave them a bit of a hand was their first try from nothing, completely against the run of play.Once again though we don't know how to do it for 80 minutes.
On the plus side Wilkes was the best forward on the field for me and was my MOM. Promising show from James and the best yet from Collis.
Let's hope the win lifts their confidence!

| I thought Collis showed how good he will be when fully fit - he was a real handful in the first half.
Aton was outstanding - as usual.
Danny Kirmond is fast becoming genuine Captain material.
We did our best to throw it away in the second half, but the rugby we played in the first was totally dominant in every area; we can't be far off finding the right formula to sustain that for the full 80.
As I said earlier in the week - an ugly win will do, and ugly it was.

| Quote: Trinitythefuture "Pedestrian ??? How's that work then ??? The yardage we were making every set was far from pedestrian, just the type of rugby we need for 80 mins. Total domination is what I'd describe it as, backed up by the sky sports team. 40-0 wouldnt have looked out of place at the break. How the hell Aiton dropped that ball over the line is still puzzling me. Good win !!! If we hadn't been hanging on at the end it wouldn't have been a WTW performance. Comfortable wins are not in our script ! Ever.'"
Agreed. And our set completion was excellent. With a bot of luck and composure we would have been 24-0 up. the worry is the second half but that is partly confidence after a bad trot

| Glad there wasn't another minute to play or we'd have lost - Salford seemed to be breaking us on every play towards the end.
Very lucky that Salford were useless, in fact - one less spilled ball and they'd have been ahead.
Admittedly a couple of decisions didn't go our way.
Great first half - Collis was class. Terrible second half, only Mathers seemed to want to kill the game off.

| As a complete neutral (Swinton Lions Fan) I thought you boys were terrific in the first half and should have put that game to bed then. In the second the Barton Reds were always going to try and up the ante as they were useless, so although it ended closely it would have been a travesty if they had nicked it.Well done on making saturday tea time so good.Good luck for the rest of the season.

| Firstly a win is a win. Some people are just never satisfied.
So they nearly beat us.....but they didn't. Sometimes I think some on here will only be satisfied when we beat Leeds by 50.
I watched at game and now on tv and we deserved the win. No doubt.
For me Kirmond and Wilkes were outstanding. Smith saved us at least 3 times with covering wild passes or dropped kicks.
Aiton was his usual self. Great player.
I felt that quite a few decisions went against us too. They could easily have had a man in the bin with holding down when we broke away and got stopped short. Both were penalties but he didn't consider card.
We had ball knocked out when on their line too.
Equally Aiton's non try was great skill but just failed to complete. Ki forward pass non try could easily have been a try as we had already broken them just didn't execute.
Add to that they were throwing the ball around on catch up and it came off for them.
We have to fix our second half concentration but that was as much about panicking because of recent form as anything. Didn't think anyone played badly and cost us the game.
There seems to be two groups on here.
Those that sing "Wakefield till I die"
And those that should sing "I'm Wakefield till they make a mistake then I'm not supportive and will be overly critical and negative and might as well be supporting Cas"
Get a grip. We won. Enjoy it.

thats the thing, I didn't. I enjoyed the Huddersfield and Hull KR matches more than tonight. All the good things from the first half were eclipsed by the awfulness of the second. I knew Salford would come out more determined and tighten their defence up, but the shear stupidity of the play in both attack and defence was infuriating. The game needed killing off, and Trinity did their best to do the opposite. We're luckly Salford only started throwing it about in the last 5 minutes.

That's just it. We won, which is good and much needed but the manner of victory was a little concerning. Rather, another dreadful second half which could easily have cost us the game if Salford had dropped one ball less than they did does little to dispel my fears that we're not going to see many good results this season.
It would have been nice to improve our points difference a little more.

| We snatched an ugly victory from the jaws of a comfortable victory. Could have been 30+ points up in the first half quite easily.
Can we just play 80 minutes solid from now on, no half time break?

| I was disappointed with the second half and I've just passed my underpants on to the wife as they need a good wash but a win today was far more important than the way we achieved it.
Thought we played well in the first half and had we been steadier the game would have been over at half time. We need to play for the full 80 minutes but I thought there were encouraging signs and something to build on. My MoM was Peter Fox, not because he was the best player on view but for that tackle/stop he mage that left him on the floor because had he not come in and stopped the move I think they would have scored and won the game.
Looking at the full 80 minutes I thought we deserved the win and after some of the recent performances I'm satisfied that we won and think we can now improve.

| I expected it to be close and for Salford to win, they didn't, so I'm happy!
Tonight were were trying things and most of it came off, I'm pleased with what I saw!

| We were very lucky in the end. Instead of giving salford who were potentially 20+ points worse than us a good beating, our negativity nearly lead to us losing. We seem to want to just hold on in games when we have been in a position to win well. We need to be far more positive to create momentum going forward this season, instead of being super negative when we can kill teams off.
