| Tell you what though that article on the website is a load of bull! Of the four young players mentioned as having their careers 'launched' by Agar, two of them, Briscoe & Houghton, were given their debut by Peter Sharp and Jordan Turner played four seasons at Salford before Hull signed him! And the Westerman quote is a matter of opinion! I know we need to big this up but at least get it factually correct!

| Quote: Sandal Cat "Well we all now know.
As I said on previous posts RA may well have been the best available candidate open to us. As other have said he has a very good reputation with players and if you look at some of the players he has brought in he can attract quality overseas players. Also I undestand that despite popular belief he has not been spending up to full cap at Hull so does not appear to have done too bad a job if thats the case.
He will be our Coach when his commitments at Hull have ended so lets all get behind him, support him, whoever he brings in and the Club. Also stop this nonsense of not buying season tickets - its a fantastic offer so get behind that as well.
Together we will be stronger.'"
Great post. Whatever the circumstances of his appointment, we now need to get behind him and the team. Will be sorting out my STs this weekend. Lets judge the guy when he has got a season under his belt.

Fingers crossed that is the case. Many clubs these days have more than one assistant coach anyway, look at Deacon acting as backup to Wane & McGuire at Wigan, Cummins and St Hilare at Bradford, Purtill & Anderson were assitants to Brown at Hudds for years etc, etc. There should be room for Morrison anyway.

| Shocking but no surprise.
Nice attempt to polish a turd on the Official website though.
What a way to end an already poor season.

| Press release peddles the myth of "successfully coaching the team to a Grand Final" which he didn't. Who writes this rubbish?

| He is our coach now and as such I wish him every success. I hear good things from people who know a great deal more than me. I am told by people whose opinion I trust that RA is a great choice of coach for us.
I am sure that I am guilty of jumping to an opinion about RA from the persona that is portrayed on TV and by comments made by Hull fans who may well be just the vocal minority. It is obvious that RA does not court publicity, we never see him as a sky guest, he may just be the sort of chap who likes to quietly go about doing the best job he can possibly do. I am told that he will work well with our excellent youth rugby staff, that he has a fantastic work ethic, that he got rid of the drinking culture at Hull, that he got rid of problem players, that he is very well regarded by players loke O`Mealy, Fitsgibbon and Manu. Good luck to RA. I am pleased that I have taken the time to speak to people in the game, outside of Wakefield to find out more about the man.

I hope for your sake you don't end up with Kath Hetherington involved at some stage, having Fubar is bad enough!

You never know - the season's not over yet - might change a few opinions if he gets Hull to GF this year.

| Agar was always up against it at Hull.
He inherited a squad in 2008 full of poor recruitment & rentention decisions from the previous two coaches, Kear & Sharp. He then faced a season and a half of a chronic injury crisis, together with no playmaker (Dykes was injured, Thorman was awful).
The past two years have been better. He brought in Long, Fitz, O'Meley, and established Houghton & Briscoe as first teamers.
This year, we had an awful start and one we've failed to recover from. Since then we're 11 wins from 16 I believe, although we've struggled against the top teams. We've posted a few 50+ scores and alot more tries than recent years and our brand of rugby is alot more exciting than it has been.
Unfortunately, Agar lost the respect and trust from the fans. Our attendances have gone down by 3k. He's also prone to some baffling rotation desicions and as has been said, doesn't give too many youngsters their chances.
He's still a young coach and will get better. He's held in very high regard by the players and is very knowledgeable about RL. His tactics and perhaps motiviation skills seem to be what let him down.
All in all, I'm glad he's left Hull as we desperately needed some change and I wish him all the best.
