If you want to attend and you have a spare £1000, we'll send a car for you

You could send a car for me aswell if I were 100% confident that the money would save your club, but that's the problem, I'm not. I've followed this situation closely as I have quite a few friends who are Wakey fans and nothing has been said to inspire confidence in potential investors. It just seems like the money will be added to somebodys pension fund. Good Luck anyway I hope things work out for you, I do think the best option would be to consolidate in the Championship but unfortunately the option of playing yourself back into Super League, as we did, is not open to you.
All the best.

I believe any self-respecting RL fan will feel the same, whichever club is involved.

| Quote: Rotherham Fev Fan "would you prefer the club to committ to it's SL fixtures but run a real risk that is a distinct possibility that it might not be able to see out the season, or even worse, go out of business soon after the season commences -
OR
take the hit now, close down Wakey Trinity Wildcats and re-form as Wakefield Trinity (2011) Ltd competing a full season in the championship and begin the long road back to recovery??
It hurts, but not impossible - HKR, Huddersfield being recent examples'"
Option 1 won't happen - if the CLUB starts the season, the CLUB will finish it............the BUSINESS on the other hand is a totally different matter.
Option 2 - IMHO is the right thing to do. There's no way that another club (i.e. Widnes who are all but confirmed as the promoted team) can build a squad capable of competing in SL in less than 4 weeks so the RFL will have to allow WT to continue there for this season. It does mean that we'd almost certainly be facing 3 years out of SL, but it would probably see us come back stronger - both on & off the pitch.

If we go out of SL they will never let us back in, simple reason, they do not need us, if any one thinks any different, then they are not right in the head. They wont to expand the game, not have a load of teams from yorkshire in.our gates will be around 1500, that means no money coming in.Sorry but thats the way it will be. I can see SL in time to come with less teams in, like the fat cats taking all the money from sky.

Question is........do you want to watch your club (possibly not in SL) or do you just want to watch SL?

That is the reality of the situation you find yourselves in , to drop down and then push your way back in would require massive investement , you would need Newmarket to be built , you would need to fill it in the Championship , and hope that another heartland SL club implodes as you have done
Toulouse are the next SL club after Widnes , if you had managed to get Newmarket or Thornes park built then either Cas would be on their way out or we would be looking at a 16 team SL next year
What sort of fan base do you think you would/will retain in the Championships ?

The usual format I see; condescending statements of the bleedin' obvious about the 'reality of our situation', described with barely disguised glee, followed by an oblique question. Which, incidentally, you agreed to stop doing.
Exactly how did we end up with you permanently camped on our forum by the way - were you barred from the VT?

Not the ' bleedin obvious ' to a lot of your fans it would seem , many of them , conditioned by a decade of being in the top tier dont seem to understand the realitys of running a SL club or the potential constraints of being a heartland club on the outside of a Franchised SL
Why am I here , bored with the telly , the off season with no RL to watch or talk about , not being able to complain yet again about the antics of Ryan Bailey and Danny Buserus ?
Fed up with the situation yet another heartland club is in with no clear path to a brighter future , I have only ever gone to a SL match other than with Leigh and supported another club , both those occaisions were Wakey v the Pies , one the play off in 2004 [ a guess on the year ] at the JJB , and the other in 2006 at Belle view with our ' NL 1 needs a strong W1g4n ' flag , so sorry if you disagree with my posts or I have struck a nerve , but thats something you'll have to put up with

explain!!!! we did not go down due to the winners of the nl1 not having good enough ground/ criteria for 3 years.. we go down and come up as unbeaten champions...

I'm no big Shudds fan but I have to agree that they are now in fair and square.
Perhaps what the original comment refers to is Shudds elevation and maintenance for a lengthy period in Super League giving them an elevated position to achieve what they eventually got???

It would appear that some of you what aren't regular posters on here seem to be touching a nerve or two with some local posters
