| Must admit that his form has dropped off since the revelations of him returning to Oz.
Was pretty much aloof today.

| Had a real shocker yesterday. His mind is clearly back in OZ so let him allow his body to join it ASAP.

| Is it just me, or do Shame Tronc`s recent performances remind anyone else of another former prop who started going through the motions once he knew he was moving? JK had no hesitation in leaving him out even though we were in a relegation battle at the time.

| he has played poorly the last couple of games but he is such an easy target for everyone its becoming rather tiresome. He wasn't the only poor performer throwing the ball away etc.
Add to that he hardly had any gametime when he was almost an 80 minute prop at the start of the season. If he doesn't want to play and we don't want to give him game-time then why pick him in the first place.
Having said that, it must be hard for him now as all he gets is abuse from the stands, he is hardly going to be full of confidence is he?

Don't think he would get stick if he was still putting the effort in. Sadly because we've seen what he can do it's so obvious that his performance level has dropped alarmingly since it came out he wanted to go back home. Anyhow he'll be playing for Brisbane soon so i don't think he's going to be too bothered about what a few disgruntled pommies shout at him.

I am told the very same. 6ft 4 and 19 stone reportedly. Was a big admirer of Tronc when he first arrived, but I don't care what anyone says, his heart is no longer in it, and I told Mr Kear that yesterday. He might aswell go now. Pick Gledhill or Trout for the Quinns game.

| would have to agree his recent performances have been poor and personally do not think he offers anything that warrants a quota spot, but in the grand scheme of things the performance of any one player seems quite trivial.
we have no defence pattern, no set attacking plays, a non existent kicking game , no hooker on the field most of the game, and a completely unmotivated team.
frankly the current state of the team lies at the door of john kear and ted.
have always been quick to praise them when due, so only fair to criticise when they are failing.
and we say watching wigan is like watching paint dry!
need to look closer to home

What was his reply to that then?

| I told him that Mr Tronc was mentally on a plane already, JK didn't answer but looked at me as if he agreed, but it was not long after the game and I think he was still feeling it at that point. I actually think Kyle (Trout) thinks himself that he might get a shot over the next few weeks. If Morro is injured I would give him a run in the second row, going straight in at prop might be a bit much for him. John will not be frightened to play the young'ns if he feels it's appropriate.

| I got into Rugby League because I respected the physicallity and fitness of the players, however, being a great athlete does not automaticaly collorate into being a great human being. Tronc is a very capable rugby player but seems to have little in terms of personal qualities that deserve respect. Loyalty, desire, commitment, effort and application are the things that I look for in a great sportsman. Tronc you fall well short - maybe look across the dressing room to a bloke called Kevin Henderson, he lost his dad last year, is not on megga bucks but puts it in time and time again and punches way above his weight. I reckon his dad will be looking down with huge pride. Its time to change your life Shane, step up and be a real man.

| There are a number of options that the club should consider before committing itself to long-term signings. Much will depend on how ambitious the club is, and how much money is in the kitty.
Ben Ross
South Sydney front rower, off contract at the end of 2010
30 years old
6'3" - 17st 7lbs
105 games in the NRL over an eight year period.
Manase Manuokafoa
North Queensland Cowboys front rower, off contract at the end of 2010
25 years old
6'3" - 18st 5lbs
45 games in the NRL over the last 5 years
represented Tonga 4 times
Feleti Mateo
Parramatta loose forward or stand-off, off contract at the end of 2010
25y years old
6'4" - 16st 4lbs
67 games in 1st grade including 12 for London Broncos (Harlequins)
represented Tonga five times
Lee Te Maari
Ex Bulldogs second row forward, free agent (I believe)
25 years old
6'2" 16st
32 NRL appearances in 3 years
played for New Zealand Māori , and was a member of the New Zealand World Cup squad.
Brett Kimmorley
Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs scrum half, off contract at the end of 2010
no introduction needed
still playing to an unbelievably high standard and possesses the organisation and kicking skills that we currently lack
Will Chambers
former Melbourne Storm centre now playing rugby union, for the Queensland Reds in the super 14s
on a rolling one-year contract
22 years old
6'2" - 15st 7lbs
once heralded as the next Greg Inglis, injury forced him out of the Melbourne squad and into rugby union
James Tamou
North Queensland Cowboys prop, second row, off contract at the end of 2010
21 years old
6'4" - 17st 7lbs
A big prospect in every sense of the word, made his first grade debut as a 17-year-old but has only made a handful of appearances since then. Well thought off and there would be competition for his signature.
And then of course there's my old favourite Arana Taumata!
Currently signed with West Tigers, and apparently doing well both on and off the field but can't get a run at first grade. IMO , he would be an absolutely fantastic and well timed signing for our current team.
I don't know who does the scouting for the club but these are the sort of players that we should and may well be aware of.
