For once can't we just trust Kear, it's not like he hasn't proved the doubters wrong time and again.

I look at it this way, Cooke can be a class act that will never change. Kear is a good coach, however to justify that he needs silverwear in the long term. He knows to break into that elite group he needs to take some risks. Not every player can be a Sam Obst style safe bet, sometimes you have to take a flyer.

Kear no fool, he once said that the sort of qualities required to be a great player are not the ones you would look for in a person in everyday life, in fact quite the opposite in SOME case.

It's like Brough, I think we all felt though the normal suspects won't admit it that he was a don't touch with a barge pole player. Kear trusted his ability and it has paid off handsomly. If he can do it again Cooke would be an inspired signing but only Kear can prove it, in which case I back him.

True he can but for the last two seasons no ones seen this "class act" if anyone can change that its our John but he can't work miracles

On a season long loan why not?
He'd wanna prove that he's a good player given his ooc at end of this year so may start pulling his finger out, gives us different options and has played well with brough and under kear.

Why not give him a chance?

if we were ever gonna sign cooke i cant imagine the terms would ever be as favourable as they are likely to be now. if he has no future whatsoever at kr then maybe we can get a cracking deal on his wages with as little risk as possible if its a loan deal.

If anybody can get Cooke playing its JK for me we are crying out for a prop and a loose forward Cooke fills the loose forward add a prop and we could be in the mix with Wigan Leeds and co come the end of the season

Indeed we would hold all the cards and the first sign of trouble off back to Hull for Mr Cooke. Sounds like a fairly safe gamble which could pay off well if Kear can get him playing again.

after watching you last night,the last thing you need is paul cooke upsetting a very good team.you all work well for each other,dont let an outsider rock the boat,its sailing very well.

He is now at the club which he says he has supported since a lad & loves - he even left Hull to go to KR (took some bottle)-but can anyone honestly say they think he's set the world on fire since he went .....no.

I'd have to agree with you on that. If Cooke's upsset Justin Morgan one time too many then HKR may well accept a deal that sees them continuing to pay a good chunk of Cooke's wages just to get him out of the door for the rest of the season.

If that can be sorted out then Cooke COULD be a good signing if JK can can the best out of him and hopefully the financial terms would leave us with enough flexibility to bring more cover in for another position if we find ourselves needing it later in the season.

My point of view is very simple.

If there is any truth in this then I trust John Kears judgement 100% and I will support whatever the outcome is.

I don't like Cooke, I don't rate him, and I don't want him at Wakefield.
