Where have I said the club have done anything wrong?

My take on it is it is just one big mess that could have been easily avoided and there is fault on all parts IF what is being reported as true. Firstly if the club asked for no booze on the bus there should have been no booze on the bus. Having said that it is a sd state of affairs when a club has to impose such sanctions on its players s it clearly does not trust them, even sadder is the fact there concerns were justified.

The plyers themselves must have been aware of the sitution but took the actions they did and now one of them at least cannot deal with the consequences of his actions, and worse still has sought to try to take the club on in the media. It speaks volumes about a player who at one time could have been anything in the game that he is now being linked to Barrow and Widnes when in real terms he should be in his prime.

We are unsure of the circumstances or if the coaching staff were aware of it at the time regards the drinking or if it came to there attention after the event when the coach arrived back in Wakefield, if the coaches did know it was happening then why not have a word there and then prior to it becoming a major issue.

All in all a nothing incident, a storm in a beer can if you like could realisticlly end the top flight career of 1 player and ensure one of the more talented hlves in the UK is on his way out of the club lso in the not too distant.

I hve never know a club faced with such adversity as Wakefield deal with it so well with class and respect, but continue to have major brain farts over such trivial matters that risk sending all the good work off the rails.

so the players should not drink even if they think they have deserved it?

Basically the club have rules and discilpinary procedures set out, and if players break this rule the club have to stick with what they've set out no matter who they are.

If they didnt they'd look like a laughing stock infront of players who'd do it again because they could get away with it. And later if someone got banned for the same thing then all hell could break loose.

The club set out guidelines they have to stick to them.

The lads cna have a drink yeah, but if they are told not to then they should go along with the rules like everyone else

Danny is rumoured to be considering sueing the club over his fine. I wonder if Wakefield could counter that with sueing Danny for his inept performances, lack of fitness and failing to do what he is bloody well paid for!
