Why did same individual sit back during 2011 and 2012, when the club was getting back into debt, and not do anything, bearing in mind he was on the board from the start of 2011?
If it was me I would be wanting to know why and trying to fix it, especially if I was putting money inat that time'"
A lot of things wrong with this post.
Firstly, a lot of people inherit money. I lived on Kettlethorpe as a kid, so you can imagine that I never will, but some people do. That's life.
Secondly, MC said right at the beginning that he sort of ended up with the club. So, a guy with some hobby-cash to throw around decides to throw a bit towards a local rugby club, at that time under the rich leadership of local blowhard Glover, but did so because it was fun and why not? The club hits the buffers because it was badly-run, so the guy puts everything on the line for the club, going from a side-interest to a full-time pursuit.
Thirdly, and in line with your previous posts, sometimes tough management upsets people, but a club like ours needs it, because we can't afford any passengers.
I get that if you get enough poison on a drip-drip basis, it gets into your bloodstream, but maybe time to pull out the drip for a while. I don't know the guy, and I might even find that I wouldn't like him if I met him, but he's turned the place around, at immense personal risk. I'm sure he's upset some people, but that's life. We need strict management.
As for Covid breaches, people do all the time. I can bet everyone on here has met someone they shouldn't have met, a relative or someone, or not counted the bubbles, or strayed within two metres, or done something. Players have. I have. Even Wayne Bennett did!

Whose late father are you talking about?

Does that matter??
If they can do the job then what difference does it make if they're married to the groundsman, a player or the CEO?
I coach a junior football team and we have appointed someone to be our Covid19 officer. Again, I ask, does it matter who that person is, who they're related to as long as they know what the role entails and are capable of doing it.

Excellent post Slugger
About 4 years ago MC sent out a plea to all fans asking if they knew anyone who could possibly invest in the club and I sort of half knew a very wealthy local businessman who is also a prominent sponsor of the Whino's. Despite not having spoken to him for a number of years I phoned him and asked if he would be prepared to meet with myself, MC and TRB (luckily he still remembered me ) and he agreed to the meeting, so the three of us went to his offices and I introduced him to MC and have to say that the meeting went very well and he agreed to meet up with MC at a later date to go into further details. Unfortunately the guy didn't end up investing ( I suspect that may have had something to with Whino interference, but may be wrong), but I have to say that MC was exactly as he comes across in the press - a thoroughly professional, really nice guy who only has the interest of the club at heart and if it weren't for him then I honestly believe Wakefield Trinity would no longer exist today.
EW...as other's have said, I am really shocked at your outburst, as I too considered you one of the most sensible, reasonable posters on here and am truly sad to see you come out with such comments. You are obviously entitled to your opinion, which I respect, but as some wise sage said many years ago - YOU DON'T BITE THE HAND THAT FEEDS YOU !!

Thanks for the reply FIL, I thought that's who he was replying to except that as far as I'm aware Frank Carter, Michael's dad is still around and not deceased as he implied, I have a daughter that lives quite near to him in Notton and when I've taken her dog for a walk have seen him a few times and always happy to talk about the club.

| I would just like to say if Eastern Wildcat is going to post on here he gets his facts right and not make accusations against senior people at the club.

Can only say what I've been told by someone who was at the club longer, in a higher position.
Doesn't say much when he expects staff and players to take a pay cut, then comes waltzing in with a new Porsche.
Add to this the underhand saga, of Rocky and now this.
I certainly am not bitter, I have just started my own business, and it is doing rather well, despite COVID19, and growing.
I wont miss the rose tinted morons that post on here, saying pretty much all is well, when it clearly isn't. Again transparency
Maybe some people dont like tough love'"
What was underhand regarding Rocky?

| We are quick to castigate Fifita based on the club statement but did he request a smaller GPS, if not then OK but if he did why was this not also stated. I note that Chester was not exactly forthcoming just saying that apparently he had asked for a smaller GPS. He is the coach and should know therefore did he or did he not, I would suggest we wait for an answer before we just blame the player and coming up with reasons why he is no longer what he was and should go.

| I am ready to be shot down here, but something about this GPS thing does not sound right to me. Let us not forget that David Fifita put his hand up to play whilst clearly injured on many occasions last season. I dont think that a GPS vest being uncomfortable would stop him from playing. There is more to this story.

Perhaps EW should go watch Hull KR where and I quote “at least the chairman has balls.”

His agent thinking he could get a deal better than the club was offering and failing? Yep, blame the club for valuing a player at one figure, and others not agreeing.

I dont see him pulling a Trinity shirt on again but would be more than happy for him to show up in a couple of weeks time. Not seen the best of him for q while now and any mature professional would buckle under . go out and show his worth . I did ask the question if he was still on the pay role and if not can we still hold his contract. I know hes been stood down by the club but hes refusing to conform to regs.
Think the best the club can hope for is a fee with a player exchange.'"
Who the hell would buy him when top clubs here sign Aussies they buy lads prepared to knuckle down get fit for s start he's had his chance in NRL who'd want him there

I just don’t see how the two are in anyway connected. It’s like a battered wife excusing her husband because he got her some flowers last year. Extreme example but valid. Or to use a RL analogy, your only as good as your last game.
