| We've only just started the season. Why would we need to rest anyone.
They need to play together to be tuned up for the bigger games.

| We’ve Gale for his penultimate season , why wouldn’t you use him or do we leave one of our most expensive/experienced players as a water boy for the remainder of his contract .He’s probably forgot more that Lawford knows about the game and imo if fit he needs to start every game barring those early cup games . Seeing young Lawford doing well in the friendly’s is one thing but York will be a lot tougher test than people give them credit for , we are the ones that every other club will want our scalp . The season is long and arduous and no doubt the lad will get his chance in the spotlight as Gale is getting rather delicate in his old age , but it’s one we must win to gain our place back in super league. You wouldn’t dream of resting Jerry for a youngster if not fit so why take that tack with Gale , who’s been their and done it at the highest level . We’ll need his guile and skill sets to steer us around the field in what will be challenging times ahead . And not forgetting he’s got the biggest gob at the club , something thats been sadly lacking for far too long at wakey

I get what your'e saying, I was thinking more to avoid risk of injuries to key players.

Very true.
Lawford has shown in the two friendlies what he's capable of, and to me, deserves to ne in the starting line up for the first league game.
We've seen neither Lino or Gale at all. I'd be putting these out at Siddall and Newcastle, to put some miles in their legs.

Gale is just returning from a long injury lay off, he’s only just started training so why play him in a tough match straight off the physios bed. Another weeks rest, another weeks training then a game against either Siddal or Newcastle where he’ll put less pressure on his body.

| Looked like Gale was a central figure in the captain's run so who knows.

| This is Rugby League, if you want to avoid injuries then you might as well not show up. We should be playing our strongest team / squad whenever possible.

I don’t know for sure whether Gale is 100% ready to go or not but your post suggests we shouldn’t manage long term injured players back into action

| I read it differently TA, he agreed with what most were saying, that we should always or most of the time play our best side but that was as long as Quote: " our strongest team/squad whenever possible.'" I presume that means when they're fit enough.

| Strong winds blowing west to east, (left to right from the Trinity fans point of view. Tricky conditions, tough game.
