Unfortunately that’s part n parcel of a mid/lower table club ,your always going to get your best players picked off at some point ,we just can’t get into an arm wrestle with the bigger clubs over contract money , and neither should we in my opinion. To be honest I think we did amazing to keep Johnstone as long as we did ,think it was his horrendous injuries record that kept clubs at bay for so long . Great if he stays and good luck if he goes , won’t be the first or the last for that matter ,but I think the latter is inevitable ,considering he’s just broke onto the scene and now obviously agents are getting in his head .Good on MC , we simply cannot break the bank for anyone ,as there’s a cold wind blowing around the clubs at the moment with the cost of living crisis getting worse by the week and new revenue streams a way off for us yet , and personally I much prefer this steady ship we have at present than those turbulent times of yesteryears , even if that means forsaking a future superstar .
