Why is it a good thing to see a club in debt like that?

Much as I’m all for pushing positives this is a misleading story.

These were figures published in 2021 so I’m guessing they are from the 2020 accounts and I clearly remember MC stating we were on target to make a small profit that year. This was fantastic can’t knock it,

However I also believe that for the 2021 and 2022 we have run at a trading loss. A small one I suspect but not a profit unless something has happened I have not factored in.

The last two years have seen a huge drop in income for all clubs, in our case about twenty percent. It’s this that has caused a short term negativity in our accounts.

This is not a bad thing, so long as it can be managed and I think it can. If we can continue down the road of well managed debt then we are fine and will recover.

Whatever our current losses are I’m massively confident that they are still the lowest in the game.

Finally for those still pondering, buying shares will go a long way to giving us a healthier balance sheet.

Your point is well made, though Rugby League club accounts go to 30th Nov so if these are 2021 then they are predominantly for that year.
However, the balance sheet published for 2021 doesn't seem to quite match up with the number published here so not sure where they are getting their figures.

To make any money in such difficult times is a superb effort from all involved, from the MD right down to the volunteers and, of course, the fans.
It should give us a huge tick in the "plus" column with IMG but, they will probably be too busy working out how to include Bradford in the new top flight.

Profit might not be, but sustainability most probably will.

It's never a good thing to see a super league club in debt. The sport needs strong sustainable businesses. I'll happily hammer them 100-0 but there is a difference.
No one benefits when clubs struggle financially.

Funny you should think that because the fans of the certain club in question were more than happy to gloat at our financial misfortunes in the past, and were more than happy to see a certain chairman dip into his own pocket to take our players.
As for your last sentence you don't think that shudds benefited then from our financial demise?
