Watched the first episode last week… nice to see the old place … but I’m not a fan of MacDonald. Wife watched another two episodes whist I watched the Sharks game on Friday night…

Don't think you need to be a fan to enjoy it, it's the subject, not the presenter. If I applied that logic to RL I'd never watch it on TV!



Yes, she grates at times but I do think she's genuine in her love for the place.

I have to say if I was Wakefield born and bred I would be really chuffed how often she does mention the town at every opportunity.
I`ve seen her on the Cruising programmes and on my Yorkshire and she never fails to mention Wakey in a very good light.
She is a bit like marmite but I have grown to like her over the years especially as she appears proud not only of Wakefield but her background and family loyalties.

My daughter works at the Dam Inn on Barnsley Road and she spent a lot of the time there during the filming of the Newmillerdam scenes. . She says that she is just the same off camera and a genuine nice lass..

I met her once, she was great. Really genuine and down to earth.
While not a Trinity supporter as such she says she likes us to do well.

It’s a pleasant easy watching series that shows both Yorkshire & Wakey in good light. Nothing to dislike.

As for Jane…we met her on a cruise once and she was just like she is on TV. As said before, she is just a “nice lass”.

Wakey should be proud of her!

She’s probably the most famous celebrity Currently from Wakefield. Watched an episode of her doing a cruise up in Scotland the other year where she sang in a cave, her voice is unreal. I’m sure she’s off Peacock as she went to school with my mates dad.

Her family home was on Silcoates Street...the terraced houses on the left before you get to Lincoln Street, I believe, so almost on Peacock, hence her association with Balne Lane club.

I believe she lived on Silcoates Street, Pat, just off Balne Lane. I think, but may be wrong, that she attended St Michaels juniors on Flanshaw Lane.
