The way he worded it was that they had already negotiated deals which were agreed, but nothing would be announced until we knew that we would definatlely be in the super 8's which we were, and once that was confirmed, we would start to make announcements.

Apart from Keegan Hirst, no others have been announced as yet

I'm guessing once season tickets go on sale signings will be drip fed to us in the hope they will stimulate sales.

The thing is our season maybe over but other teams still have important games so will not want to let us announce players signed from them yet

Sounds like the people who have bought the site are keen for us to remain - and you can understand why; if they're plonking a convenience store and some fast food outlets on it, the regular influx of supporters will be a steady income for them. The players and staff alone would sustain a small Costa franchise, let alone speccies and passing trade.

Also without giving to much away the site has issues that mean it's hard to develop. Any development on the whole site (retail/commercial) probably wouldn't yield much more that the ground rent from us which would be achieved with no further investment from the developer.

Housing development is a possibility but would require a huge investment to make some of the land "safe" and in the area it's in would not earn the premiums to justify it IMHO.

A mix of retailed/commercial and a a sports facility for rent is probably a sound return for the buyer.

Lets hope so anyway.

More confident now our short term future is secure at Belle Vue, I'd have happily followed us wherever but I understand others are far more sentimental than I. I'm sure MC will want the season tickets on sale before the Hull game next week so I'll just await an update.

Would think a small retail / fast food development on that site would have a significant footfall from the Donny Road traffic and yield a fairly good income for franchises plonked on it. Was at the club on Monday and was surprised by how much space the Super Bowl and Oasis buildings were uncovering.

Agree. The guy that owns 88m has made himself a very nice portfolio from the looks of things, with plans for hotels, Air Travel and other ventures in the future , so he's not daft by a long shot. Hopefully he can see a a good long term investment in us, to go with the other Properties he's purchased next door..

Just seen MC and CC in Costa with a potential new signing (and his Mrs?). Offered my credit hard to help seal the deal. Won't mention a name so not to steal any thunder.

Been away for a while and a little confused as to the ground situation. Are we staying at Belle Vue? I certainly haven't seen an announcement .
