| Garbage performance, the only good thing was somehow we managed to get two points. We played dumb, was outplayed for large chunks of the game and badly disjointed with the ball. And lets give up with blaming the conditions, it was the same for both sides, london just adapted quicker. You have to react to the situation around you and we seemed incapabable of doing that. The decision to drop Sammut was a strange one, for a team that lacks a spark to leave him out it was baffling. Tautai ran hard and was bar far our best forward, some of the others should take a look at how he takes the ball in and learn from it. We somehow won but against anybody else on the league it would have been a comfortable loss. Much improvement needed otgerwise Wigan willnrin up a cricket score.

| Granted the performance may have been substandard, but ask yourself this. Would you rather see an ugly win or a pretty loss? Two points on the league table is what counts.

We need to play with more knowhow and urgency otherwise it will be the last two points we do pick up.

Couldn't believe they didn't take the two. I know they wanted the win but taking the two to make it 12-12 would have meant the drop goal was back on plus they'd have got the ball back. There was plenty of time left.
To quote an old cliche, it was a game of two halves.
First half we looked like we'd been training in good weather fully expecting it to be good tonight. Unfortunately the heavens opened and at no point in the first half did any Wakefield player realise this. Our knock ons must have easily been in double figures. London adjusted straight away and took full advantage of the fact that we were playing with a bar of soap. It was only due to London's poor decision making that we didn't go in 20+ down, they had enough ball to have killed it off by half time. Some of our players looked completely disinterested.
Webster must have woken them up to reality at half time as we came out and played the conditions much better, although we still made some shocking errors. London through no lack of effort never looked like scoring. I don't think they would have scored in the second half had they have still been playing now. I heard someone say a draw would have been a fair result. Personally I think London were more clueless in the second half than we were in the first and it was only a matter of time until we got ahead.
TT put in some graft tonight and Kirmond looked like a new man with Tim Smith buzzing around. Great pass from Tim to Owen but I think Owen was so shocked at actually getting a pass that he was celebrating the fact before he tried to take the ball in! Mathers didn't let anyone down. Matt Ryan put in some good tackles although I thought Walshaw just shaded him for MoM. Bringing a fresh McShane back on so late into the game helped us get forward.
London put everything into that game, one of their lads came to the fence to meet his family and he looked to be crying. They were out on their feet at the end. To come away with the 2 points in those conditions was a job well done, despite how bad we were.

| That 1st half they played the conditions far better and when kicking on the last tackle put it across the floor where we were dumb hoisting it in the air. They run out of steam in that last 10 mins or things could have been so different.I hear the reason Sammut didn't play was a strained calf.Mom for me was Mathers didn't let anyone down and did all that was asked of him for a change.

Sammut was fit, just dropped. From the man himself on twitter.

I would rather see an ugly win every day of the week, unfortunately we were playing the worst team in the league & just managed to scrape that ugly win.
The omens don’t look good for the rest of the season especially when the best forward on the field is on his way soon. Tautai has nothing to play for, he’s off to play at the highest level, yet he out-performed the rest of the pack, who you would think have something to play for with SL survival & all.
The five win buffer looks quite comfortable at the minute but I can’t for the life of me see where another win will come from, based on recent performances.
Maybe the “new broom” will take a little while to change some of the structures, especially now Timmy’s back, but I fear it’s going to be a long hard slog to the end of the season.

| A wins a win and now you're safe and above Salford. Webster now has the luxury of some time to start getting things in place for next season. I know its hard for fans when deciding do i pay money to watch experiments but you have got to try and back the team. Did the reduced admission help the attendance at all?

| First half London played the percentage game very well in the conditions and capitalised on mistakes that would clearly happen in the conditions. Yet again our handling was terrible accepting the conditions tonight. I thought our discipline in the ruck was pretty poor with a couple of needless penalties.
London kicked well in the first half however we were playing the game at the wrong end for much of the first half, I would have liked to have got out of trouble more or reduced the risk of mistakes by hoofing the ball into London's half and force them to make mistakes. That said we lost the ball on the second tackle in their 20 from a penalty that summed up the first half for me.
The second half we played better and won the percentage side. I still think we struggled near the line in attack and just like London had some luck in the first half scoring we had the same in the second. We kept them out for the second hlf and that has to be a positive given the mount of ball they had.
Oh I have just looked at the table in the paper we are above Salford and 8 points in front of the relegation place. Something to celebrate even if the performance was not the prettiest. I would rather see the paper today that playe din a classic match and just lost.

| Have to say this was the worst win I have probably seen but like the rest of you I'll take it. I felt a sense of panic and the conditions just compounded this. Owen was getting very frustrated not getting the ball and I think we will utilise him more when Smith settles in and of course the conditions are dryer. In all a good result to build on.

| It was a classic team with nothing to lose performances by London compared to our first half where we were ultra cautious. I guess the weather added to our no mistake first half policy resulting in us losing the ball and making silly mistakes. This just added more pressure on an already nervous team and I guess they just forgot to adjust to the conditions.
The second half they played the conditions better and once we levelled the score I thought we started to play with more confidence resulting in better rugby by us.
I understand the decision to put Sykes at 6 because he and Smith had played together for the best part of two seasons (injuries aside). I would expect that with Smith participating in more training sessions it will give him an opportunity to work with Sammut.

Not a big fan of Washbrooke but I thought he had a decent 80 minutes, all things considered.

I thought he was worst person on pitch & that includes the ref who appeared out of his depth.
