So he's breaking the law then, the limits 50 drive at 45-48 and you wont have a problem.


Those cameras are to protect all the road users in narrow lanes, but if its easier to blame everyone else please do so.

I'm far from an apologist for speeding, but the length of time that 50 zone has been in place is ridiculous - crossing the M62 during daylight hours is like one of the trials of Hercules and has been for ages.

do it day in day out do the speed limit but the truck drives still want to run you off the road

I can disabuse you of that notion - I got pinged on the way back from the Widnes game doing 57; it was after midnight and there wasn't another car or a workman in sight.

All I can say is I must of driven through the roadworks/average speed cameras on the M62 at least 100 times this year both in car on bike and also van and as yet no ticket

The way truck drivers drive so aggressively is a disgrace. What amazes me is that they get a warning maybe a mile or two prior to the speed restrictions come into play and they don't start to slow down. They then complain as they are up your

that they have too much momentum to slow down in time.

Take the licenses off the idiots who can't abide by the rules of the road.

The limit is the limit and if clearly shown on the road then nobody has any EXCUSE for breaking it. The people setting the limit have assessed the conditions of the road and there is no way some random driving on the road can determine what they think is a safe speed to drive.

I've been driving for many years, never had a speeding or parking ticket. I've only ever been in one accident and that is when I was stationery at a roadabout and I was hit from behind by a police woman!!!

It is a privilege and not a right to drive on the road. Drive to the rules of the road, without tailgating, cutting people up or aggressively. Let's all get on. Many of us have to drive, let's make it unstressful.

There's a hell of a lot of poor drivers on the roads, and on motorways the majority are not lorry drivers!!

On the parts where there are no restrictions in place and the traffic if flowing freely.... any car doing 50-55mph should be stopped and banned from driving on the motorway. If and when you ever get in a lorry and drive on motorway's you will know exactly where I am coming from....

As for the 50 speed limit, I'm sorry but I don't believe anyone anywhere would get clocked and a ticket for doing 53/54 never mind 51......it's always been my thought that you will 99% of the time get away with doing 10% over the limit....

And as for driving 45-48 to avoid getting a ticket......if you can't maintain a speed of 50mph on a motorway I'd question your ability as a driver!....nearly as bad as those who will happily drive along a road at 30 for a couple of miles and then as soon as they come to a speed camera drop to 27....why oh why oh why!!

I just keep out of their way and drive at 55mph whenever I have to go down that ridiculous motorway. Mind you I bet it's done a good job of keeping economic migrants over on the wrong side of the hills.
