Not really true.
Obviously clubs are in a stronger position to bargain because of where we find ourselves.
It’s all though relative to our needs.
Losing Hall harms our centres, no doubt, but it improves our fullback role and probably strengthens the overall squad.
Same with Tanginoa. He’s not really fired for us consistently for a couple of years and spends a lot of time injured.
We need a middle so swapping him for a player we need despite him maybe not being regarded as “good” a player probably strengthens our squad as it improves an area we are weak from a position we have relative strength.
If we were swapping centre for centre or secondrow for secondrow I would take your point and agree however we are swapping players for ones where we have cover for others where we need more support with the idea being that we are strengthening the team.
If it works in practice only time will tell.

Do you think we should be targeting a front rower given we already have 6 at the club?
Why not a 9, 6 or 7?
Also looking at out secondrowers were not stacked with quality in that position and would be once again probably swapping our best option if it's Kelepi who goes.

The coaches have identified we need a middle.
We may have 6 but only really one is performing.
I think we would love to get a 9, 6 or 7 but they have to be of a quality and available for us to get them. Having a think about it I’m not sure who that person would be.
I agree about secondrow but we have plenty of SL proven quality in that area of the pitch.
Atoni is turning out to be a horrible signing. If he was performing we would be in a much better place.
The club can only go after players who are available and also of a level to improve us where we are most deficient.
My guess is it will be Bullock (total guess) and if it is him I’m ok with that as he is a big Prop (not a middle) who has plenty of go forward and can do good minutes.
Will be interesting to see who it is if it happens in the next week.
My guess though it will be Tanginoa used to bring in a prop.

You're totally right about Atoni.
His inability to make an impact is a mystery to me. Looks every bit like a modern day prop who should really be a right old handful.
I have everything cross he comes good.

| What a bloody mess of our own design we are in!
I wouldn’t trust the judgement of our current BoD or the Coaching staff to identify anything remotely Rugby League related.
It’s alright Carter talking but it’s his decisions over the last few seasons that have left us up a creek

Overall Tanginoa has been very good for us, the reason he probably doesn't appear as effective as in his early days is two main reasons, firstly the quality of squad he is playing in has been declining year on year and his chances to shine have reduced because of it and secondly because of that he is very much a marked man by the opposition. Being one of very few genuine individual attacking threats will be up the top of list in team meeting of who to watch on our team. In a better team with more attacking options he will stand out more. I feel we would miss him if he goes.
And yes he's had a delayed start to this year but can we please get away from this notion that he misses lots of games through injury. Prior to this season since joining in 2019 he had only missed just nine games, 5 through suspension (3 towards the end of last season for the 1 offence) and only FOUR games through injury. He's hardly injury prone.

I agree to a certain extent but I think he has flaws which are fairly significant which can be masked in a team with a better pack.
His strength is obviously his edge running hitting great lines, but he has also struggled in defence and does come up with unforced errors ball in hand.
Like you say it comes down to who he is playing with.
Some teams can probably accept and cover that with other players who can pick up that slack.
I don’t think the current squad we have can.

and despite being names in the Dream Team as a 2nd row our numbskull coach insisted on playing him in the front row for a season and a half

To be fair if he didn't have deficiencies in his game he wouldn't have been playing for us in the first place! Or super league in general to be honest. It's just my opinion but for me hard work alone won't keep us up, we need quality as well and he is one of a precious few players we have with the ability to be a game changer with a rampaging run or big hit. So if we are to swap him then it has to be with someone who makes a discernable difference to the team and is noticably better in their position than what we already have. I await any wheeling and dealing with interest.

There were rumours of Patrick Mago from Wigan. Would be the big damaging prop we need potentially. If he’s available.

Wigan are wanting a second row so would make sense from their point of view i guess.

| For me it makes sense swapping Mago got Tanginoa. They are after an edge second rower after Bateman has gone, we seriously need abit of grunt up forward. How Tanginoa has played the last 2 years I’m not too fussed. He can also be a liability in defence, which will be better masked at Wigan
