Quote: Khlav Kalash "The NM application is the funding. Its gunna rely on a hell of a lot of trust which just isn't there anymore. There is every chance we could be shafted again, but the planning at NM will go through with or with the support from fans, as the last one did after all the objections.'"

Hence the hold fire.

Sadly that's pretty much the nail on the head.

Luckily due to that lack of trust and the removal of Box I suspect the Council and the Club are far more wary and far more safeguards put in place. However, when dealing with private companies especially a certain one we all know there is an element of risk.

Looking at it logically the Council are the key, it has a lot more to lose this time, you can get away with anything once, do it twice and serious people start to ask serious questions.

The one saving grace is Box has gone, Jeffries from the outside seems a more genuine person so hopefully has a bit more of a moral compass about her.

Quote: vastman "Just received word.

Hold fire, for now, nothing to worry about but we don't want to overplay our hand just yet.

Things will become clearer in the next few weeks.

That's all I can say. It's up to you if you don't want to accept what I've put as I can't share the e-mail with you but I think most of you know I'd never do anything to damage the club.'"

Works for me.

The biggest difference this time is that Henry Boot are involved.

I’m sure I read on one of Councillor Jeffries press releases that a new S106 was being put together to link both planning applications, am I mistaken?

Personally, I have no idea, all this planning stuff isn't my bag, sure someone else will know.

John minards mentioned it also in one of the zoom calls. Assume we need this absolutely water tight before we support the NM planning

One would seriously expect that the funding element was water tight and in place for the clubs plans.

Can you imagine if we announced the plans and funding in place without actually securing it in an agreement of some kind. With historical failures aplenty it would be downright embarrassing.

couple more objections

(Objects)
Comment submitted date: Wed 06 Jan 2021
Will be best thing to happen to the city .

A new stand would bring in more supporters and more visitors to the area bringing in more money.
Wakefield offer excellent coaching and training and the new facilities would benefit players, scholars and academy as well as coaching and other staff.

at this rate even the objections are in favour icon_confused.gif

1782 support 8 objections

there is absolutely no trust what ever and it will go through without us, they need to put the funding in before its passed end of if that's what were waiting for

Correct, almost - I think everyone else involved trust each other except for Yorkcourt, I don't think anyone would be foolish enough to trust them.

It's really up to the Council to make sure they fulfil their obligations to the S102, unlike last time.

Although I’d egret some of these folk that have skanked us in the past belong in the sewer, it’s an S106 we want icon_thumb.gif
An S102 is an application to have your own sceptic tank connected to the mains sewer icon_lol.gif

I’ve just had a quick look at the public comments for the 2 applications in question.
20/01939/FUL = 43 comments, All Objections
20/02249/FUL = 2. comments, 1 objection, 1 neutral.

Does this situation now puts our club and fans, between a rock and a hard place? If 2 thousand trinity fans vote to support the applications, I don’t think that will go down well, with the Newmarket locals.
If Trinity bosses have already pledged their support to the developers, in order to secure funding, then perhaps we will have to dance with the devil this time. Needs must.
