| Here's an opinion:
Based on last years performances we were lacking in several aspects - pace, a kicking game, management, leadership (not necessarily captainship), power up front, strength and conditioning and a defensive pattern. We could see some of that being addressed towards the end of last year and we can now see further evidence of moves to plug those gaps. I have my thoughts on who will play where, but I'm really happy that we have someone who is attending to our situation with the experience of BS.
Onwards and upwards!

| It shows how much we have moved on that people have different views on what to do with the team.
last year it was just, "make them tackle" "kick the ball"............now we are arguing who should start and which player is our best bench player.
That's all good from my point of view.
Clearly I am actually Wayne Bennett and I know better than everyone but I like to keep my identity a secret on here.......oh wait......damn!

| Solipsism on an internet message board - who'd have thought it?
In some ways, the egotism of certain posters is the only thing that keeps the board active; without it, what would we all reply to?

Do you use words like Solipsism in day to day conversations? I wouldn't be able to hold a conversation with you, if a word is more than six letters wrong that's me done, I'm no sesquipidalian.

| Solipsism was a word in everyday use where I grew up; we would often pause during long glue-sniffing sessions outside Townley Road shops, to reflect on the fundamental quandary that knowledge of anything outside ones own mind is unsure and therefore, cannot be proven. If I recall correctly, Bessie and Keithy the Tranvestite were the only true metaphysical solipsists, in that they believed that since the existence of the 'other' cannot be proven, it in fact does not exist at all.
Lupset in the 70's was a much more sophisticated place than people will have you believe.

Indeed it was but perhaps your version lacks verisimilitude.
I do recall Keithy, who in my youth appeared to be a Brobdingnagianesque individual which made him all the more frightening yet to some he was pulchritudinous and not just because of his choice of attire.
It seems we Lupsetarians of the 60s & 70s have the gift of pandiculation where seaquipidalianism is concerned, my post here proves that you certainly do!

My mum used to tell me about Keithy!

| So assuming Moore is the last man in, the squad looks something like this:
1 Ben Jones-Bishop
2 Tom Johnstone
3 Ashley Gibson
4 Bill Tupou
5 Jordan Tansey
6 Jacob Miller
7 Liam Finn
8 Nick Scruton
9 Michael Sio
10 Scott Anderson
11 Anthony Tupou
12 Daniel Kirmond
13 Mickael Simon
14 Scott Moore
15 Anthony England
16 Tinirau Arona
17 Jon Molloy
18 Matty Ashurst
19 Andy Yates
20 Anthony Walker
21 Max Jowitt
22 Jordan Crowther
23 Sean Morris
24 Ben Shulver
25 Richard Owen (If he recovers from injury he'll be 5 for me)
26 Craig Hall
27 Reece Lyne
28 Chris Annakin
29 Joe Arundal
30 Stuart Howarth
I wonder ho many of the extras will be placed out on loan. It's a big squad to run.
I think I still like Simon starting at 13. Having the extra muscle up front helps us a lot.
I think Arona is as much a front as a back rower so I've put him there but he and Simon could swap round.
8-17 are a big pack of forwards, including Sio and Moore. Both can put big hits in. I like that.
Can't wait for the season to start.

Hmm I don't think I would have defined him as a transvestite, in my fading memory he was more a bit Quentin Crisp camp with a decent handbag. Rumour has it he could handle himself though, but you probably had to walking round Wakey like that in the '70's
