Quote: TrinityDave "Surely if the bulls take it to the high court, they should be charged with bringing the game into disrepute?'"

Totally disagree this is how ithe laws operate in democratic countries. I don't think the High Court can give points back but it may have a view on the process. As I have read somewhere this really is very very very small matters for the High Court and they may not meddle in a sporting bodies affairs, we will see. Whatever the case Marc Green believes he has a case. The appeal panel didn't hear anything evidence wise as their opinion was he didn't meet the threshold required to lodge an appeal. Very interesting times coming up, as I said on another thread if it was our club many of the fans would expect the same route.

Bulls ought to use that legal money for investing in their squad in the lower league next season.... icon_wink.gif

The club have been run atrociously but just cos a new owner wants to challenge a decision from the idiots that run Red Hall doesn't mean for one minute I am going to stand about and read the dross on this thread without venting my spleen first.

Relegation should be settled on the pitch, not the courts, but as a club we have no choice. At the end of the day you are still going to stay up as it stands even with the points reinstated so i don't know why so many are getting so rubbish.'"

Absolutely bang on, the pitch is where promotion and relegation should be sorted.
Sadly though the Bulls (even without P and R being an issue) failed to act sensibly and now it's all come to a head.
As I've said before I feel sorry for the genuine Bulls fans, they have been treat disgustingly, but dealt with it must now be.
Some Bulls fans are less open to outside suggestion and that's why on the whole many other RL supporters are anti the "poor poor bulls" fans stance.

Wakefield hold their own destiny in their own hands now. With no points or all the points returned to Bradford. It's wakeys to lose.

Bradfords Points difference makes the gap even bigger to breach.

In a 14 team league 16 points would historically keep any team outside the bottom 2.

I don't know why Wakefield keep getting dragged into Bradford's slanging matches. Salford are nearer the relegation battle than us and if results go in our favour this weekend they are the ones who should be sweating.

The sad thing is there should be no slanging match.
Sadly though some Bulls fans don't like their treatment though by the RFL and keep banging on about it.
If those supporters had some class and an ounce of dignity there would be no need for anyone else to interject.

A BULLS fan calling Wakey fans vile cretins is perhaps the biggest case of pot calling the kettle black I have seen for some time. Anyhow, like Avenger (i think) said a few days back, time to look up, not down. Let Bradford stew in relegation.

Well folks I have been looking into the workings of the High Court. From what I read it sits 4 periods within a year.
The present period is known as Trinity icon_biggrin.gif and it ends on 31 July.

The courts will not sit again till the next period starting 1 October.

Therefore I really can't see this sorry affair getting heard well after the season has finished. I therefore think this is nothing more than bluster from Green and all he is doing is spending a lot of money on an exercise in futility.

I don't think the action is about recovering the 6 points. I don't think the High Court has any jurisdiction over how the RFL/SL runs its business provided it's within the law and therefore cannot order the RFL to give the points back. My experience of the High Court is that Plaintiffs bring an action against Defendants because they have a dispute over interpretation of laws and or procedures and that interpretation or failure to follow procedures has cost the Plaintiff and has a result they have suffered financial loss.

In this case if the RFL has failed to follow its own procedures the Court can rule that and then the RFL would have to give the points back and then take them back off Bradford by following the correct procedure. The matter as to whether Bradford had suffered financially can be determined by the Court and Bradford awarded compensation accordingly.

You are correct about the sitting of the Court. This case is unlikely to be heard before November and could run into 2015.

As I said, I don't believe its about the points now. I think its about 2 things.

Firstly an attack on the RFL as the Bulls believe that the RFL has not treated them fairly. Maybe the RFL suggested Administration to the Bulls and said that there would not be a point deduction - which would have been contrary to what they did with us and Crusaders and totally different to how they were going to deal with us when Andrew Glover suggested Administration. Do you recall just after Marc Green was announced as the new owner there was a statement on the Bulls website that said something like that the RFL had agreed that were was to be no point deduction which was very quickly removed.

Secondly this case could drag on for quite a while and this maybe what the Bulls are hoping for. The uncertainty it could cause may result in the Bulls claiming that the RFL cannot set the format and fixtures for 2015 and therefore should put everything back 12 months until 2016. Consequently there would be be no relegation this year.

Just my opinion, I may be way off the mark.

Which is what I said days ago

Quote: The Avenger "The Bradford Bulls have today announced that they will take the RFL to the High Court in order to challenge the 6 point deduction. Mark Green says he's doing this not just for the Bulls but for the good of the wider game.

Did not see your post but it looks like we are in agreement. The difference being that you think their aim is only to relegate 1 team this year and run with 13 next year whereas I think their aim is that no one get relegated and we start with 14 teams with everything else put back a year.

Don't think the Championship Clubs would buy this.

It was Mark Moore who was chairman when that statement was on the Bulls website, not Green who came along afterwards to purchase the club.
