The debate was real..!! what I ment by bites was I only see things my way debate, I will not move, go to toilet or eat food unless it is right next to me people threatening not buy seasons tickets if they do not get their own way rather childish I would say
Ok the toilets in West Stand and Food outlets will be open to home fans so thats that one solved, many fans have moved to North stand that didn't like the idea but have done it for the good of the club and a lot have said they enjoy it, but others dont so why not go East Stand in stead...
I will be glad when Newmarket is built it will hope fully the moaning will stop but then again we are talking about Wildcats fans...

| You can guarantee that when Newmarket is built there will be a similar thread with people complaining about it. That's the nature of the beast.

No what point you said that you have to push through northstand for toilets it is rubbish, so you have no point, I have even said I will prove it..
I can only see foolish lazy people who need to fall into a toilet to go to spend a penny, and you take first prize

| Like I have said the fans base is growing in the northstand, and if the team try and win all home games , the crowds in the Nothstand will grow and grow, and when full work on the East stand toget that full and so on..
We are getting some very good crowds, and I say the Northstand Atmosphere is a factor..

Nope only one person taking the urine here pal and that is you. The fact that the club has changed the policy proves i'm right. But you carry on, you've removed all doubt that you're a selfish idiot now anyway, why stop now?
Anyway moving on from talking toilet role on Newmarket.

| The north stand is not in my opinion a great place to view the game, some prefer standing at the end, some do not. For those that like to stand along the touchline without the sun in their face and actually see all corners of the ground then the western terrace is in my opinion the best place to do so.
Some people seem to be suggesting that it is all fans inherent duty to stand together in the north stand, and that the atmosphere generated there is somehow something special. The truth is that the noise generated there can barely be heard in other parts of the ground, wheras when the terraces are packed in the west and east standing areas this offers far more atmospheric value to the ground as a whole and support for the team. All that is of course subjective and broadly irrelevant to what is being discussed however.
The club have made a decision that they claim is because they're looking down the barrel of a £20k fine, something in itself is a matter of debate. The communication has been as ever amateurish, and at times on this very thread provocative and blunt. The main issue for me is that the group I have stood with pretty much my entire life on the west terrace now cannot do so, and the reason for this is because the club have made no effort to root out the trouble makers (who must number about six) and/or steward the area properly. Many of my group have already said that they will not buy memberships next year and just pay on the gate as away fans, because the best viewing position in the ground is being denied to them because of the lazy approach being taken.
Key security are not impartial, the police aren't even at games, and rugby league is a family sport which thrives on fans mixing together. I don't see it as a coincidence that the encouraged segregation has coincided with more trouble, for decades there have been morons and idiots with bad language but having the fans mixed in together has always led to a great deal of self policing amongst the fans. Somebody shouts something daft and is immediately told to shut it by his peers - it's how it's always been.
I go to the match to watch the match, yes it's a bonus if there's a fantastic atmosphere, but ultimately it's the match I want to watch, and I'd like to do that where I can see the game, and that's on the west.
The fact that Davide has come on here is admirable, but it only further highlights the haphazard approach to defining and communicating this new set of rules as he has moved position on a few points. Same old, same old from the new regime here - a poorly thought out policy, implemented poorly, and all the responses could have been predicted had they actually thought things through. Ultimately the whole thing is needless if they had the wit to tackle root cause.

But you don't have to be IN the North Stand to enjoy the atmosphere that has undoubtedly improved with the roof having been added.
The biggest factor for me in whether I enjoy the match or not (after the result) is whether I've been able to get what I consider to be a decent view of the game. IMHO the best place to watch a match at BV is from the West Terrace.
It now seems a reasonable bet that one end at Newmarket will be for away fans only.

| Quote: normycat "I like to stand on the western terrace in the corner when playing towards Donny Road and under the roof for the other half but can see why the club have introduced this. it won't stop me buying a season ticket and I'll just stay up the donny Road end. Hopefully in a couple of years we will all be getting settled in to our favourite spots at Newmarket. When you travel to the away games you don't see may home supportes in with the away so i suppose the ground is going the way of most other clubs . There is nowhere near as much banter between fans at games now which is a shame but times change, not always for the better, but sometimes things have to change or you face the danger of being left behind.
By the way when changing ends at the huddrsfield game I didn't notice an imtimidating atmosphere and the Huddersfield fans seemed happy enough, maybe its just that they aren't really used to any atmosphere at their games (joking!) Did they complain to the stewards or just to the RFL. Hope the club traced the so called fans using racist language etc. and banned them. No room for this at a family game. I haven't been to a ground yet where I haven't heard foul language and whilst I don't condone it I think every club is guilty of having fans who use it or maybe Hudds are posher than the rest.'"
FWIW i've always stood down the side when visiting Belle Vue and a year hasn't passed by yet without some Wakefield fans deciding to come and 'kick-off' with some of our lot, usually towards the end of the game and certainly by the exits and down the back streets.
We have complained to stewards, the only one we could ever find was by the exit gate on our way out, and when we told him what was going on was met by a shrug of the shoulders as our fans ( and indeed our town through not very pleasant racist language) were abused going out of the ground.
I would personally hate to see BV segregated as an away fan as we've always had some good banter with the Trin lot on the West terrace.

Well GD I think you highlight part of the problem perfectly, the club have chosen to do nothing about the root cause. Furthermore the complete lack of stewards that are prepared to actually "steward" cannot help can it?
FWIW I was involved in an amateur club in Huddersfield in the 1970s for a number of years. Each and every year when we play your lot, I meet my old pals on the west terrace and we chat before the game, at half time, rib each other during the game and then shake hands at the end and say see you next year. I want that to continue.

Last few games I've been ashamed of some Wakey fans in that part of the ground who have been verbally abusive to visiting fans. The sad thing is, it wasn't popped up kids but blokes in their late 20s or 30s who should know better.

All he's done is expose just how ill thought out, poorly communicated and poorly implemented the club's lazy policy is. I don't think he's made himself look anything other than a bit out of his depth.
