Dont blame the RFL,they only do what Sky Sport tell them to do.If the the funding is in place through the community trust,is there any other viable site?

I wouldn't be too smug just yet. I would put Halifax's application as stronger than yours, particularly as they have no fines for crowd trouble or homophobia.

Just to echo sentiments already spoke i am absolutely gutted about the stadium setback for wakefield trinity. The club will move to barnsley and continue in business, albeit for a short time, but i fear that come early 2011 the RFL will finally get rid of us. This, in my opinion, is down to a number of factors including the RFL'S blue sky thinking of a "perfect league" a league decided upon by factors which aren't related to on field matters. But tbh the main people responsible for the clubs demise will be the board of directors that "look after" the club. they have had ten years worth of money to develop Belle Vue, something which is possible when you look at headingley. They should be held reponsible! Sadly i see no way forward, goodbye Trin.

We all have our opinions on what could have been done better be it management, or ground location or the whole lot, but one thing sticks out like a sore nose in an factory ,is that on this forum some supporters are at best fickle !

Did anyone expect anything else, as a Trin fan we need to keep on! We don’t do anything the easy way we never have so why start moaning now you’re only providing the smiles for those that wish to gloat.

At present we are still in SL we still have a ground and a team to take to the pitch come the new season, I did in the end buy a season ticket along with shirts for the family and will do so as long as its Wakefield Trinity Wildcats !!!!!(Dreadnoughts ) as I have done for a lot of years.

Thanks to those supporters from other clubs who wish us well and mean the best cheers.

As for my opinion on why we got to this point well were to start.

Come on the Trin icon_biggrin.gifRUNK: icon_hug.gif icon_guitarist.gif icon_ass.gif

I do worry about playing NL at Oakwell. For one we will take a hit attendance wise moving down to NL. And will this be doubled moving to Barnsley? Can we afford playing at Barnsley to 1500/2000 fans?

Sheffield cope at Bramall Lane well enough.

We won't be playing NL at Oakwell though. The only way we will be playing at Oakwell (assuming thats Plan B) is if we manage to get a franchise for 2012. If we don't get a franchise we will stay at Belle Vue and either wait and hope for Newmarket and make a bid in 2015 or 2018 or remain a NL/Feeder club at Belle Vue forever.

Was it not chuffing obvious to your BoD that a planning application built wholly on green-belt land would be called in? Yes, it's only the second to be called in during this government BUT nobody else would even bother applying for PP with such an unrealistic chance of success.
Your best hope of staying in SL was to accept the feasibility study suggested and agreed to a ground-share (surely playing at GH would have been better than any other option?).
You have my support as a fan of RL, I think your fans have been short-changed by your BoD and there is nothing I would like more than to see two successful clubs in the district.

kcab sfrawdder Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg

Can you rent it for a couple of years , if it is sold , do the new owners want to build on it straight away ?

Do you honestly think the RFL would give franchises to 2 clubs playing out of 1 stadium in Castleford. It would more than likely give the franchise to Castleford leaving us to play NL rugby as Wakefield in a stadium in Castleford which means certain death.

All the feasibility study was intended to do was to get both clubs to pool funding and resources at Glasshoughton which would have helped Castleford and not us. Fortunately our BOD did not fall for that one.
